All in a Day

She sat on the couch in complete comfort. She was completely content, just sitting in front of the fire with the man's head across her lap. She idly began running her fingers through his hair as she gazed pensively into the fireplace. She briefly glanced down at him. Noticing her look, he smiled up at her and suggestively ran his hand up her side, briefly grazing over her breast. She sighed deeply, looking forlornly into the fire. He must not have noticed because he followed his actions with, "Let's move this over to the bed, ne"
She didn't want to stir up trouble, so she nodded and went with him.

An hour later, as he was dozing off, she told him she planned on going home for the night. He frowned and questioned her, which she shrugged off. She lifted herself off the bed and tugged her clothes on before turning to face him again. He was giving her a heated glance. All it did was proceed to make her sick to her stomach. He rolled his eyes and got dressed as well. As he walked her to the door, he offered her a ride home. She declined.
"I'll call you," he told her.
"Don't bother, I'll give you a call sometime"
"Minako?" She looked at him for a minute, an air of finality about her, before turning around and walking off. He wasn't as dumb as she thought he was. He knew she wouldn't call him.

As she walked home she wondered why she was attracted to men like him. They all thought they were God's gift to women, that anyone should consider themselves lucky to be in their presence, let alone date them. Their relationships always started out wonderfully, with her always wondering if he was 'The One'. He would lavish gifts and compliments upon her, making her feel beautiful and worshipped. After the first month, the gifts would slowly stop and finally, she'd be lucky to recieve even a dinner invitation. She'd learned early on that when that time came, it was time for her to end it before they could break her heart. She'd learned that the hard way, her first boyfriend had left her broken hearted and it had taken her a long time to open her heart to men again.

Finally she had arrived at her building, she gave the doorman a weak smile before proceeding up the elevator. Once inside her condo, she stripped off all her clothes and climbed straight into bed.
Another day gone, another relationship done.

A little one shot fic, got the idea for this when I was listening to "Jump" by Madonna. A little depressing, but I thought it turned out pretty good. ) Tell me what you liked and disliked.
