Calm. In the still of the dripping water, the biting cold, the clothing nipping tight to her skin and outlining every crescent and shape of her leans thighs, breasts... she felt calm.
Karin slowly reached out in front of her, slender hands grasping at the little droplets of sparkling gray water that fell from the sky. The bits she did catch turned to microscopic puddles on her outstretched hands, sliding down the perfectly manicured black nails to fall to the soggy earth. She closed her eyes, vision becoming blurred as the fog smoked up her glasses.
And suddenly Sakura was there, too, smiling her thin, sad kind of smile.
For once, Karin had the audacity to take Sakura into her arms, hold her in the wet, to kiss her hair and cold, moist cheeks.
She gripped the perfect porcelain body, melding with it in perfect shapes as heat devoured the cold around them.
They melded into the earth, rain water and wet earth covering their bodies as they made love; damn, Karin was coming to her senses and she could feel the out-of-season coldness of the air. But she looked down at Sakura and, upon seeing the twinkling, cucumber eyes she melted, forgetting the temperature of the atmosphere and focusing more on the position of their bodies, where her fingers and mouth should be.
It still would have been messy, never mind the mud or the rain or even the fact what they were doing was something most teenage boys would give both legs and a kidney to see.
What mattered was them. It was all about them. And it was all about now.
Karin came back to the present, panting as she gazed into Sakura's eyes. Something was there. Something hard to read, something...
They kissed, and Sakura laughed, a beautiful sound, not unlike that of wind chimes.
"Don't expect anymore for today. No offense, but you're really dirty."
Karin smirked. Oh. And I suppose you're clean?
"How about a shower, then?"
