Hi everybody! I am so excited to be a part of Fanfiction! This is my first story so be nice! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own nothing!
Colonel Robert E. Hogan strolled through the compound. He was contemplating the adjustments he would have to make to P.O.W. camp life. Even more the change to C.O. of the whole Stalog!
He was sure that few people would enjoy the high barbed wire fences, the constant guards, and the relentless German Shepherds.
Speaking of which, he had mindlessly wandered over to their pen. He flinched expecting the sea of growls and snaps to start, but he heard nothing. He opened his eyes in surprise. The dogs just sat there wagging their tails looking at him with almost docile expressions.
"Halt! You should not be near them! They are dangerous!" Hogan turned around sharply, surprised at the sudden interruption. The dogs were instantly on alert barking at the guard. Hogan raised his hands in surrender and backed away from the pen. That was strange. I almost thought those dogs liked me.

Hogan's heart beat rapidly in his ears. This was far from his first assignment, but his first as a saboutour. The mission was a success, but the patrols had forced them to split up. A twig snapped and Hogan crept lower behind the bush he was hiding behind. He carefully glanced up to see an SS guard standing in front of him. He tensed as he heard the faint sound of barking behind him. Oh no please go away, please go away!
He soon heard the sounds of absolute silence. Curious, he peeked over the top of the bush to see the guard gone and in his place a dog! He almost panicked until he felt it licking his hand and gently pulling him in the direction of the camp.
After climbing down the emergency tunnel he turned in for some much deserved rest. As he fell asleep he wondered who the dog was.I suppose I'll find out soon.

"Colonel, I have someone who I think you would like to me, Oui?" Hogan looked up from where he was studying the next mission. "Who is it LeBeau?"
"Hogan, meet Wolfgang." A good-natured woof surprised the man. "So your the dog who's saved me the other night." He playfully rubbed the dog behind his ears. "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship."
Wolfgang soon became a permanent member of the Barracks 2 crew. Often he would sit in the Colonel's office after a particularly difficult mission to calm him down and comfort him. Hogan often said that without "that hound" they would have lost the war.

Hogan relaxed on the porch of his colonial home. His faithful dog Wolfgang lay at his side. After the camp was liberated the Allied soldiers were going to shoot the dogs but Hogan had begged to keep them. The others prisoners had joined the cause and they had finally relented. Now as a General he had never regretted his decision. Wolfgang finally had the rest he deserved. By the side of his best friend.
What do you think? I hoped you liked it! I know everyone says this but please review!
