A secret engagement
A thick mist has fallen over Hogsmeade and the winding streets that were busy with carefree students just over an hour ago are now deathly quiet. Most of the shop windows are shuttered and security spells have been put in place for the night. Everywhere is black⦠with the exception of the Hog's Head. Here, there is still a quivering orange light that can be seen dimly though a dirty dormer window.
Hermione is feeling tense and nervous. It's bad enough that she has sneaked out of school but if anyone found out what she was doing out of school, then there would be trouble. Serious trouble. Maybe even expulsion from Hogwarts.
Hermione shudders as she enters the Hog's Head. She looks around briefly to check that no one she knows is there, that no teachers are there, then she looks down. Just don't look suspicious, act normal. But the fact is that nearly everyone in the Hog's Head looks suspicious.
Hermione sits down near the back and makes a mental note of her surroundings. There is a man sat near the door with lots of rings conversing quietly with a goblin; a figure dressed completely in black; a woman with strangely pale skin and by the looks of things she was hiding something under her robes.
The door is opening. This might be him.
A tall, hunched figure has entered but a hood obscures his face. He walks over to Hermione's table and sits down. Hermione can see scratches on his hand as he places his bag on the floor. He pulls back his hood.
Hermione is smiling now, "Hello Viktor."
