"I knew it wasn't over," I murmur. It was all too good to be true. After Rufus drank from the cup, he put it in the fire. Never to be seen again. Something, however, was calling me back to the cellar where Victor and his Society had been a little while ago.

"Nina? Are you okay?" I hear Fabian whisper as I come back to my senses. His beautiful blue eyes look at me in concern. I felt my knees go weak, and squeezed his hand in not only reassurance, but to keep me from falling.

"Yeah, but I left something downstairs. I'll meet you at the dance alright?"

"I don't want to sound bossy, but I don't feel comfortable with you going down there alone. Especially after what just happened,"

"Alright, if you insist," I smirk as I take his hand and lead him downstairs.

The cellar is a bit chilly as we enter, but with Fabian next to me it's not so bad. I look around before I sense something pulling me towards the fire Rufus put the cup in. I open the door to find the cup in perfect condition, untouched by the flames.

"Impossible," Fabian whispers, but I don't hear him. Sarah is calling me.

"Nina, you've done well. My parents and I can finally rest in peace. Take the cup. Hide it well and keep it safe from harm," she says before fading back into the "Great Beyond".

"Fabian? I need your help,"

As we wonder around behind the house, I come upon the same bush that Patricia dropped the attic key into during my first attic visit. I call Fabian over to help me dig. Eventually, the hole opened up to a small chamber, perfect for hiding the Cup of Ankh in. With Fabian's help, I entered the chamber and placed the cup in it. We hastily covered up the hole and sat down on the ground.

"So do you think it's over?" Fabian asks as he takes his hand in mine, rubbing small circles on it with his thumb.

"I'm not sure, but I really hope so. Something tells me that being the Chosen One isn't going to be easy,"

"You know, nothing is ever really easy. But sometimes the risks you take to overcome those challenges can be beneficial as well. Kind of like you and me," he said as a shy smile bloomed on his face.

"I guess you're right. Besides, if it weren't for you asking me to the Prom, you'd be dancing with Patricia and I'd be the usual loser up against the wall,"

"Nina Martin, you are absolutely not a loser! You are the most incredible and most beautiful person I have ever met!" he said as her hugged me. His arms felt so strong... like they would never let go, no matter what.

"D-Did you just call me beautiful?"

"Uh... yeah. It's true, you're absolutley gorgeous. You don't know how long I have wanted to be able to just stare into your eyes for hours, and not get embarassed because of it,"

I looked into his eyes, immediately understanding what he meant. Now that he knows how I feel about him, it's okay to just get lost in his eyes without a care. Without another thought running through my head, I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. I savored every second of that kiss, from the warmth of his mouth, to the taste of his minty breath.

All too soon it ended, and we sat there like breathless fools. But we were breathless fools that liked, maybe even loved, each other.
