It was a dark and stormy night. The power had gone out in the small town and remained that way for many hours. An author known simply as D sat at her desk, typing warily on a laptop, worried that any minute the battery might go out.
Her lips tightened in a worried frown as the fan fiction she was writing seemed to be getting out of hand. For one thing, the characters were talking amongst themselves without her intervention, everything seeming to just write its own events as it happened, instead of would happen.
She sighed, shaking her head, and hit the back-space button several times to rid of unwanted actions from Miroku. The story was getting too far out of hand. Miroku and Sango weren't even supposed to be in the story, and yet...
D looked around the room warily. Something, other than the storm and lack of power, wasn't right. She felt as if she was being watched, and it was a feeling she did not like one bit, especially when trying to write.
She turned back toward the laptop, only to discover it had been moved, and the main character of her story sat cross-legged in its place on her desk. She looked the character over, noting the red komodo, long white hair, beautiful amber eyes, and pointy dog ears.
"Inu-Yasha," she said matter-of-factly, not seeming very surprised by the hanyou's sudden appearance.
"I'll be taking over from here," Inu-Yasha said with a grin, revealing his sharp fangs.
