-Hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever! Hopefully, I'll be updating regularly now! I've made a new year's resolution to update regularly!-
Ever since I kissed the doc, I've been wondering if I made a colossal mistake. All my life, I've conditioned myself to build a wall between me and anything that could possibly hurt me, including Toby. Sadly, when I kissed that idiot, I pulled the first brick out of that wall. Now, when he wants to be, Toby is capable of tearing that wall to the ground, and no force of nature is strong enough to stop him. All I can hope is that he'll be gentle when he does.
"Happy! You know you can do better than this!" Walter bellowed, as he walked to the other end of the garage.
"Happy? Have you eaten anything today?" Paige asked, looking at her with the eyes of a disapproving mother looking at her teenage daughter.
"Oi, you have to focus, Happy! What's wrong with you today?" Cabe interrogated.
"Happy?" Sylvester said timidly, "Do you know where the tape is?"
Everyone's voices bounced around Happy's head as she tried desperately to calm herself down. "You know, guys, I'm actually feeling kinda trapped, so I'm gonna go up onto the roof, okay?" Happy gasped, and practically ran for the stairs.
Once they heard the door to the roof click shut, the team glanced at one another, wondering what was up with her. Slowly, everyone went back to their own things. Everyone else was so absorbed in their projects that they didn't notice Toby silently wander up the stairs leading to the roof.
Happy was leaning over the edge of the roof, trying to bring herself back from the danger zone. When she thought about what happened, she was happy when she realized that the only one that didn't have a complaint for her was Toby. In fact, all he had done was look at her like she was a puzzle that he was desperate to solve.
When Toby got to the door, he made sure to make as little noise as possible. As he saw Happy, he made a conscious decision not to disturb her for a minute. Not only could it end in personal injury, but she looked incredibly peaceful, and after the way she had reacted this morning, she deserved it. When she shifted position and looked into the distance, he decided that he'd given her enough of a cool down and walked up behind her. "Am I allowed to ask what's wrong?" Toby said, his voice dripping in apprehension.
"What the heck?" Happy yelled, whirling around to face Toby, "How long have you been up here?"
"Long enough. What's up with you? Is there something you want to talk about?" He responded, putting his hands up to shield from any flying fists.
"No! There is nothing to talk about!" Happy retaliated.
"Are you sure?" Toby asked, unsure if he should take the conversation any further.
"Okay! Fine! You wanna know what's wrong? Ever since I kissed you, I've been worried sick that I'm gonna screw something up! I've screwed things up so much, I'm so afraid of the fallout!" Happy yelled, a tear streaking down her cheek.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay! We'll be fine! And if I do something wrong, feel free to slug me!" Toby said, reaching to wrap his arms around her. Surprisingly, she let him hold her until she stopped shaking. Then, he let go of her and led her back to the door.
As he held open the door for her, she turned around and said, "Thanks, Toby. And, don't worry, I will be taking you up on your offer. As she walked away, Happy thought to herself, I hope he was right.
