Happy New Year! ^-^ I felt like torturing Al a bit today. Don't get me wrong, I love him to death, but the plot bunnies got to doesn't belong to me.
Enjoy!

Alphonse used to fear the rain.
What if it dripped inside his armor? What if it washed away his rune, losing his connection to the living world? What if there was a flash flood that filled him up and drowned out his voice before he could call out that the water surged away the rune and the Truth swallowed him up-
And then Edward, God bless him, would open the door invitingly and Winry would be holding her legendary apple pie.
But Alphonse knew those days were over. At least, they were now.
He tossed the flowers on the stone. Bending down was near impossible with the massive crack on his back. Usually she would be here to fix it, but...well. Everybody knew why.
Alphonse could feel the water puddling in his legs. He should get out of the rain before he dragged a lake into Teacher's house.
Alphonse used to fear the rain.
Usually Big Brother would be there to comfort him.
But now all he feared were the shadows following the blood that even the rain could not wash off his hands.
