"We can't do this anymore."

Hannah's bleak voice echoed around the Room of Requirement. The assembled DA members didn't look likely to argue with that statement.

Ginny shook her head, her fists clenched and her face strangely bloodless. "No. I don't care how many detentions I get, I'm doing something at least."

"What can we do?" Seamus asked bitterly. "We're kids thrown into a war zone. We didn't ask for this. Why do we have to -"

"We've done a good job of holding our own so far, so let's keep up what we're doing!" Ginny retorted.

Anthony muttered something.

"What was that?"

"I said, no, we haven't! Half our year's gone on the pretense of having dirty blood, Lovegood was hauled off the platform right in front of us, Snape and the Carrows are only getting worse, and we're known members of an enemy group!" He glared at her.

Ginny cast the entire DA a vicious look. "Come on. Did we give up last time? No! Umbridge is gone and we're still right here! We need to keep going, for Merlin's sake, we're Dumbledore's Army! What would he do?"

"Not tell us to go and get ourselves killed for a cause nobody actually believes is winning,"Zacharias fumed. "God forbid we ever get out of this intact."

"Ha, ha," Ginny snapped. "Every one of us pledged our loyalty to Dumbledore. We all knew the stakes. Nothing has changed."

"You only want to fight because you think we're doing something for your boyfriend. Newsflash, Weasley - it won't. All we're doing here is offering ourselves for target practice," Ernie declared.

"Why did we start fighting?" Ginny asked calmly. "To get rid of the Carrows. Have we done that? No."

"That's right," Laura agreed. "We've done nothing all year."

"No," she replied. "We haven't done a hell of a lot yet, but we will. If we keep -"

"I've had it with your crap," said Terry furiously. "You're lying through your teeth and we all know it. We aren't stupid."

Ginny was shaking with anger, though her voice was eerily calm. "However stupid I am is nothing compared to you lot. We've got plenty to fight for and you know it, too. Smarten up."

There was a small silence.

"Anyone got anything inspirational to say?"

Silence again.

"Okay then," Ginny said. "See you all in class. I'll tell you the next meeting date."

They left, no one speaking to her. She didn't mind that. Once everyone was gone, Ginny could finally just sit down on the floor and cry.

I loved writing this. Ginny is such an awesome character, and in her sixth year I can imagine her doing whatever she can to boost morale even when she's on the verge of tears. If you're wondering why Neville isn't here to help, he's in the Hospital Wing or something. He just isn't that important here and I thought it would make more of an impact for her to stand up alone.

I don't mean to sound needy, but I am. Please review!
