The rottweiler bore down on Dean's chest. Teeth snapped ravenous, strings of slobber perilously close.
"Eww... Dude. Go lay down." It came out as an attempted joke, but a glimmer of hope died at the last ditch effort.
Grappling a demonic dog was not how Dean Winchester wanted to go.
CRASH. Sam burst in, shotgun firing as he moved to stand over his older brother.
It was awesome to have Sam back, even if it was weird to hand over the role of protector once in a while.
Dean didn't delude himself though – It was so worth it.
