This is a poem I wrote for an English assignment and after watching Hairspray I thought it would fit nicely. It's supposed to Tracy and Link walking along the beach together. Hope you it!
First Fire
A girl stands on a beach
In her bathing suit she exposes
A face all-clear of loneliness
She breathes out a quiet sigh
Her hands are warm
She wears sunglasses
She will not have to walk home alone, alone
Along the simmering scorching street
First fire. The very first time
The first time of two pairs of footprints in the sand
Tears of warmth from inside stream down her cheeks
The first fire of human love.
