Written as a coping device for Remus and Tonks' deaths.
A: N: Sorry about any mistakes. I was very sad when writing this.
Disclaimer: I'm not Jk Rowling; if I was would I have let Tonk's and Remus died. Post DH please don't read if you haven't read DH. No flames please. I am too sad to write a little comment about what I am going do to with them.
Blue. That was how he was feeling. Teddy Remus Lupin pulled a strand of his dull blue hair. They had died for the "greater good" Both of them were gone and he never really got to knew them.
"He is taking better than I thought" said Ginny Potter sadly. She looked down at the little boy. It broke her heart to see the child so down hearted. She and her husband were sitting at the table of Teddy's Grandmother's house. They had just told Teddy why his parents were never home for Christmas.
"Teddy" Harry didn't know what to say, this was one of the hardest things he had ever had to do. Crushing the little boy's sprit, watching his vibrant pink hair turn to a dull blue.
"Why didn't you save them?" asked Teddy. Looking up at his godfather, the man he had always idolized.
"We weren't with them when it happened. I was fighting 2 death eaters at once. And Harry was..." Ginny didn't finish. When Dora and Remus had died Harry was in the room of requirement. When Tonks and Remus' bodies were being laid down to rest, Harry was in the forest. Harry was facing death himself.
"What! What was he doing when he could have been saving my parents?" Teddy yelled, his hair turning animated red.
"Teddy! Don't speak to your godfather like that!" Ginny exclaimed angrily. It was hard on Teddy, of course it was, but he wasn't the only one who had lost people important in that battle. Fred, Lavender, Angelina, and countless other of her friends and family were gone. Hadn't she suffered more than Teddy, these were people she had known for most of her life.
"Ginny" Harry said quietly. He was looking at her gravely, silently begging her not to yelled at the tiny boy in front of them.
"Teddy, in that war I lost my brother. I lost many of my friends, over 50 people died in that battle. That is just on our side; almost all the death eaters were killed. Everyone suffered losses as bad as yours." Ginny said sadly, she didn't like speaking about the war. It had deadened so many sprits, George's for one.
"I'm sorry but you could have saved them. You could have-"Teddy started.
"Save 50 lives while trying not to die, while dodging millions of spells, while trying to avenge deaths and pulling the injured out of the battle. How? "Ginny asked "Teddy, we tried doing everything we could. I was one of the last people to speak to your mother. I was horrified when I found out that she...That I could have...saved her"
"Do you know who did it?" asked Teddy. "If you didn't kill them then I swear I will!" Teddy said. He stood up his hair turning a shade of green, the exact color that the killing curse was.
"Teddy you are 9! Don't think about that!" yelped Ginny
"They are dead. Both their killers are gone." Harry said quietly.
"Oh." Whispered Teddy, looking quite disappointed. Harry made a metal note never to teach Teddy the killing curse.
"Teddy, you know they died hero's deaths. All of them, every single one who died in the battle. " Ginny said in a comforting tone.
"Teddy, if you ever want. I'll take you, to Hogwarts. To the graves of Dora and Remus, and all the others" murmured harry. Ginny looked shocked, taking a nine year old to the graves of his parents, to the graves of Fred and all the others.
"They were laid to rest at Hogwarts?" asked Teddy interestedly.
"Yes, all the other heroes. Except the ones that their family wanted the bodies." murmured Harry.
"I'd liked that" Teddy said.
