Hello!

This is a seriously short story, I know, but I thought it was a cute idea so here it is!

The characters from "Deck the Halls" will make a return later this month. I will also have a new chapter story up sometime between now and March (I am aiming to have it mostly finished before posting), and a second chapter of "Not Surprised".

Enjoy :)

James didn't even know Professor Longbottom could be this mad.
It was an honest prank, really, something he had heard about a thousand times from Uncle George. He hadn't meant for the glitter to get into anyone's eyes, nor had he known that it would burn if it did. It wasn't his fault, really.
James shuffled behind Professor Longbottom, trying to figure out a way it was "victims" fault. Why was he, a first year, even in trouble for something that a fifth year did?
Professor Longbottom halted at the base of the stair case, and James barely noticed in time to keep himself from running into him.
"Total dedication," Professor Longbottom stated, and the staircase opened. Stupid password, James thought.
Professor Longbottom marched James up the flight of stairs and into the office at the top, where the headmistress Professor McGonagall was sitting at her desk. She looked stern, and Uncle George had always warned James to keep on her good side, but he was sure that she wouldn't be any tougher than the other professors.
"Professor," Professor Longbottom greeted. "I think Mr. Potter here needs a good talking to."
Am I really going to get off with a talk? James thought. Easier than I thought.
"And why would that be?" Professor McGonagall questioned.
"He decided to play a prank on the Slytherin quidditch team. One of George's old pranks, I think, and it backfired and the seeker is temporarily blinded." Professor Longbottom explained. Professor McGonagall raised an eyebrow. "This isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it seems like nothing else is working."
"I will definitely make sure that Mr. Potter learns his lesson," Professor McGonagall replied. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention."
"Of course." And with a nod, Professor Longbottom left.
"Professor," James started. Professor McGonagall raised her hand in the "silence" gesture, and James shut up.
"It would seem like you've been causing some problems, Mr Potter," she started. "From what I've been hearing, you have a way of getting out of trouble with several professors, so I will make myself clear. I was not only head of house to your father, but also all of the Weasley children and your grandfather and his group of Marauders, as I believe they called themselves. I have been headmistress for seventeen years and Hogwarts has had many troublemakers in my time. I have dealt with Blacks, Lupins, Weasleys, Potters, Malfoys, Shacklebolts, Tonkses, Grangers, Browns, Thomases, Flannigans, Creeveys, and a number of other wizarding families during my time here, some in my house and some not. So don't think for a moment that I can't deal with one more. Have I made myself clear?"
