I heard someone say something the other day that really got me thinking. They said, "Love is like a dew that falls on both nettles and lilies." I've been thinking about what that means and I think I've figured it out.

I am a nettle.

Have you ever seen a nettle? They're interesting flowers. At first glance, they're kind of ugly and plain. But once you get to looking at them, they're not that bad. But to see their beauty, you have to look fairly closely. Lilies, however, are beautiful at first glance. Gorgeous flowers that just about everyone loves.

Like Victoria.

She's beautiful, isn't she? It's not surprising that Plato loves her. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against her. She's beautiful on the inside, too. But it's amazing how toms flock to the prettiest queens first. And queens to the prettiest toms.

Take Tugger for instance. That may not be love, but the queens sure do seem to like him. Just like the toms and Bomby.

So what about us nettles? When will that dew fall on us? Do we have to wait forever?

Rumpleteazer tells me, "Oh, don' worry! One o' these days you'll foind some'ne 'oo luvs ya no mat'er wot ya look loike!"

Thanks for the speech, Teaz. But 'one of these days' is taking too long to get here. I want to be loved *now.*

"You jus' 'ave t' wait it out, luv."

Easy for you to say. You've got Mungo. Who do I have? No one.

I'm not a lily. I'm just a nettle, waiting for the dew of love to fall on me. I know it can't all be spent on queens like Rumpleteazer and Victoria.

There's got to be some left for little ol' Electra.
