Rage (Yammy)

'To plunder that which has been lost, blood and flesh and bone and something else.'

"Woof! Woof! W-woof!" With a groan the zero Espada opened his eyes. His gigantic Body sprawled out over the rough desert sand of Hueco Mundo.

"Shut up, you damn-!" A cough stopped any further words from escaping him. The tiny dog cowered but continued wagging its tail worriedly, seeming even smaller in comparison to the Espadas size.

"Heh, how pathetic…" Yammy mumbled, his eyes directing skywards, a starless sky staring back at him. He had liked them. The stars. Back when he knew…knew what it meant to have a heart.

The incessant barking continued distracting him from the darkness contaminating his vision as his consciousness slowly slipped away.

Weakly he tried to lift one of his arms, one more death to be added onto his consciousness after he would kill the blasted dog. His muscles gave in, no more than a weak twitch was the response to his attempts. A curse flew from his lips, slurred and sluggish as the darkness slowly creeped closer.

He wouldn't have killed him anyway. That blasted thing being the only companion he had in this godforsaken place. Espadas…knew no comradery, they came and went, the weak getting killed or vanishing never to be seen again.

They had lost it after all…their heart. And something more. Something intrinsic to every human being. The capacity to feel; call it empathy or soul. The hole in their chest didn't only signal their missing heart it signaled to them and the world that they had lost something, something that had made them human.

A soft wetness poked his hand, so small in comparison to his massive body that he almost wouldn't have noticed. Weakly he forced his eyes back toward the white ground of this bleak desert, his eyes focusing with much effort than he would have liked.

That blasted dog, licking the same hand that was about to eradicate him.

"You, dumb dog…" Yammy mumbled, smile flickering over his face.

The dog continued his yapping and licking…

…and howling into the night when his master smiled no longer.
