Disclaimer: Nope don't own them, but I take all the credit for their appointed animal nicknames, though corny they may be.

A/N: It's one a.m. and I am bored, what to do? Write CSI poetry of course! I apologize in advance for all the animal references in this poem, who knows why I added them in there? It's late and the caffeine is getting to me. This poem was never supposed to be this long…. Tabbi wrote a little CSI poem and it got me inspired…please review.

Summary: Who knew musings could be this drawn out? But without further adieu, my ode to CSI and it's beginnings…Sorry if I got anything wrong. I never actually saw "Cool Change" or the pilot episode * Crowd gasps *, I had to go off the transcript. Enjoy!

Spinning Webs

Once upon a time,

There was a dark old city,

Its name is Las Vegas, Nevada

And it's the setting for this ditty.

City of lights, city of promise, and city of broken hearts,

It's the city that never sleeps.

People on the streets from dusk till dawn,

Held by endless greed and lust for love, heartless evil creeps.

Then along came a spider,

His name was Gil Grissom.

A well of knowledge he brought with him

Not to mention a few damn good Zen "isms".

He met up with a black cat, Catherine,

Who used to be a stripper.

She was a witty and clever up and comer,

And it was clear the puzzle-like forensics life fit her.

A dynamic duo they proved to be,

Together fighting crime.

Building a deep friendship as they went,

That kept growing over time.

Sly fox Warrick stepped in next,

A not so naïve rabbit Nick in tow.

Racing competitively for the top spot,

Learning all there was to know.

It's the year 2000, where we're now set,

When head honcho Brass makes a fatal error.

Sending squeamish Holly Gribbs,

Into fatal terror.

Sent out, booted to the curb,

Brass is demoted down.

It's here our spider spins his web,

Attempting to ensnare the killer, in the web, he has spun all over the town.

Cleverly he asks silent wolf Sara Sidle,

To investigate the Holly matter.

Teaming up with black cat Cath, bringing on the bling-bling,

Leaving no evidence unturned or scattered.

Sara confronts Warrick about his absence from the scene,

And knew he had something to hide.

A gambling problem lay somewhere deep,

Behind the CSI's now fragile pride.

She reports to Grissom all her facts,

And bares to him all truths.

But Gil feels guilty and cannot force himself to undo,

A new CSI family that has just begun to take root.

Two years later and they're all still around,

Cleaning up crime in a dark sleepless city.

Locking away heartless criminals

And feeling little pity.

Now were finished with the tale you've already seen,

The one you I am sure you all know,

About a unlikely quirky family,

Five CSI's, a coroner, and a lab tech named Greggo.

The End
