He follows you around like a shadow, slinks like liquid around corners. Trying to find some courage in himself, courage to approach you. Sweet darkness surrounds him, attracted to him as if the smell of blood is on him.
He's just a boy and innocence still colors him. But he's lived too long without sun. If you stopped time for even a few seconds you could see the pain in his eyes and misplacement in his posture. But time zips by and all you see is a flash of dirty black hair, his shadow in profile.
He wants to tell you - wants to tell you everything he feels and everything he hears. In silence he learns. In ignorance you quiet him. How much you must not like him weighs on his concience heavy and full. Brings a slant to his shoulders, a scowl to his face.
You are just a slip of a boy, everything he was taught to think of as unimportant, weak. If he could stop time for even a few seconds he could be with you, could brush his hand over your Gryffindor crest. But time zips by and all he sees is a flash of your fiery red hair, your shadow in profile.
