Sitting outside, I began drawing while listening to music. The sun beamed down harshly, though it didn't really bother me, it's nice not having to deal with freezing weather most of the year.
Anyways, I was undisturbed all morning, which was nice, and I was finally able to do something on my own. So after finishing my stuff, I got up.
"Hmm… Not sure what to do… It's really hot." I sighed.
I walked inside the house, drenched in sweat already. Placing my stuff down, I groaned due to how hot it was, though I just said it was better then freezing. But for some reason, it was much hotter then most years.
So wanting to just relax in a nice AC place, I went to my room, since I always kept it cold during summer. But more I could enter my personal freezer, I heard a knock at the door. Snapping my head to the door, I felt my body twitch in annoyance.
"Who… Is here… In this… Weather…?" I thought.
Dragging myself to the door, I opened it and saw of course, Spark standing there.
"Hey, Lucas!" He greeted.
"What…?" I didn't greet back.
"Geez, I just wanted to see if you wanted to go outside." He replied.
"No..." I bluntly replied back.
"Come on! It's the first day of summer! No school for three whole months!" He said.
"That sun will cook you at this rate. And you know I hate hot weather." I told ihm.
"You also said you hate cold weather too..." He glared.
"I like warm weather, okay? I hate freezing or frying… Can't you find someone else to get sunburned with?" I asked.
"Not really. I did try and get Leon before you, but he had some kind of lesson for music or art or something… Can't you come out, please? It's boring at home…!" He complained.
Holding back the urge to punch him as hard as I can, I told him no again and closed the door. Through the door, I heard him saying it was fine, and we'll probably find Rex or Eclipse to hang out with. Once he was fully gone, I rested my head on the door.
"I don't feel like spending the first two weeks suffering from sunburn… Geez, Spark has got to learn I don't just accept the moment he complains. Gets old very fast." I thought.
After that small annoyance, I finally headed upstairs and into my nice and cold room. But that was short lived starting tomorrow. As the next day, I was outside, and luckily the weather was just perfect. Guess yesterday was just an alert telling everyone summer as arrived. But anyways, I was walking around the place, not really doing anything, when I encountered Eclipse with Shine, just checking out some of the shops. I made myself noticeable, and they greeted me.
"Hey, Lucas..." Shine greeted with a small smile.
"Hey. What are you two doing here?" I asked.
"Oh, we're just checking around for some stuff for summer. Plan on going swimming and stuff, so we gotta prepare with fresh gear. How about you?" Eclipse replied.
"Eh, not really sure. Just thought of walking around, something will interest me probably." I said.
"Ah… Well, we sh-" Eclipse was cut off by Shine.
"Um… Can we have a moment Eclipse…?" Shine muttered.
"Hmm? O- okay, I'll just be right here." He replied.
Shine then led me down the road a bit. Once far enough, Shine looked down.
"Thanks for taking time to spend with me a month ago again. I just wanted to know… If you want to do it again… I have some stuff that I only feel comfortable telling you." She said.
"Huh? Um, sure. What about Eclipse? Why don't you tell him?" I asked.
"It's a little personal that Eclipse might become his usual self… Acting like a big brother." She replied.
"Then I guess we can spend some time together again." I said back.
"Thanks… I'll tell Eclipse that I'll be with you..." She smiled.
We then walked back and Shine told Eclipse, he seemed okay with this, as he knew I could be trusted. After splitting from Eclipse, Shine began leading me to a pathway. She lead me through the grassy field and up a small hill with a tree. She sat down under the tree and I followed. Staring at the open field, Shine spoke.
"This place always makes me feel better… So peaceful… I just wanted to be alone..." She said.
"Sorry for dragging you way out here… I just needed someone other then Eclipse to talk to." She continued.
"No problem, it's quite pretty here." I replied.
"Yeah, it is..." She simply said.
"But… I know I can trust you with my personal problems… And that's why I brought you out here… It's just been really hard since my parents died…" She had her legs against her body, wrapping her arms around them.
"I'm sure… Are you okay?" I asked.
"Not really. I don't want to worry Eclipse, he's done so much for me. But I need someone other then him right now." She said.
She sighed in a shaky tone.
"I- I'm sorry." She spoke, closing her eyes and clenching her teeth.
"I just don't want Eclipse to see me like this..." She said, beginning to cry softly.
"It's okay. I'm right here." I replied.
She looked up, tears running down her face. She then jumped at me, hugging me tightly, full blown crying into my chest. I did feel bad for her, but all I could do is be there for her. So wanting to show affection, I hugged her back.
"I'm here for you…" I told her, causing her to cry harder.
We kept in this hug for a bit, her continuing to cry loudly into my chest. This went on for ten minutes, before we broke from the hug. She wiped away her tears and looked at me.
"T- thanks… I just… Needed that..." She sniffled.
"Anytime." I replied, nodding at her.
"Though we just met two months ago… You're a really good friend..." She said.
"U- um… We should return to Eclipse..." She tried to hide her crying.
I nodded and we got up. We walked back to the shopping area, and Eclipse was still there it seemed, carrying a ton of bags and the such.
"Ah, your back?" He told us.
"Y- yes. Just needed to talk… D- do you need some help…?" Shine replied.
"Yes, please." He replied.
Shine grabbed some stuff and began walking off, possibly back to their place. After that, Eclipse looked at me.
"You two seem close. It's nice seeing Shine open up to someone, someone that cares. So thanks." He said.
"No problem. Can't even begin to think how terrible that would be." I replied.
"Me either… That reminds me now that your here. Do you have time tomorrow? Shine and I are going to spend some time at the beach. I think she'll like your company." He said.
"The beach? Sure, sounds fun." I replied.
"Cool! I'll meet you at our hangout around one tomorrow, sounds good?" He said back.
"Perfect for me. I'll be there." I nodded.
"Nice. Shine will enjoy it, I'm sure. Well, I'm gonna catch up to Shine, see you tomorrow!" Eclipse smiled and turned back.
Honestly, the beach sounds fun. Relax, swim, or something. With some more time before night, I decided to continue searching around the place...
