Sara/Oliver

" Ollie."

Sara's voice woke me up. I opened up my eyes slowly to see her face above mine, her hair brushing my cheeks.

"Sara..." I whispered. My voice was harsh and I coughed as I rose in a sitting position.

Sara was kneeling by my side, looking concern, but mostly sorry. I looked around with apprehension. I was in my house, but something seemed off. Everything seemed to be tinted in grey and it was oddly quiet. As if the overpriced carpet my mom had chose was absorbing the noise. But something else was different... there were no pictures, no painting on the walls, no plants, only the furniture.

"Sara", I repeated, "where are we? What's going on?"

"You died, Ollie", she said, sadly.

"What?" I asked with a once of panic. "What do you mean?"

"We're in the limbus", she answered, "Ras Al Ghul killed you."

I buried my face in my hands. Faces flashed in my head; my mother, Thea, my father, Tommy, Felicity, Diggle, Laurel, Roy. All the people that I love.

"Why are you here?" I hear myself say. "Is it really you?"

Sara nodded. The sunlight coming from the windows were showering her face.

"It's me, Ollie." She tilted her head on the side. "They make you see the person you feel the safest with."

I smiled a little.

"I have missed you every day, Sara", I said.

I placed my hand on her cheek and she closed her eyes. We didn't move for a little while. Eventually, she sighed and rose on her feet. She offered her hand.

"Come on", she said. "We have to go."

I took her hand and didn't let go as I stood by her side.

"Where?" I asked.

"I'm not allowed to say", she answered. "I'm sorry."

Still holding hands, we reached the front door. She opened it, but instead of my alley way, we walked in my old high school.

"What are we doing here?" I asked, looking around.

"We're visiting the places the most significant to you", she said, looking at me sideways, "one last time."

We walked around the corridor and I brushed my fingers on the old locker I shared with Tommy as we passed by. We reached a new door.

"I think you know where we're going this time", Sara said, with half a smile.

I pushed the door and step on the familiar ground of Lian Yu.

"Something's not right...", I said, frowning.

"The smell", Sara interrupted. "There are no odors in the limbus."

I nodded. It felt wrong to be here and not smell the trees. I looked around. The plane wreck was nowhere near, but I recognized the field where I had trained with Slade, so many years ago.

"How do we leave?" I asked, looking back at Sara. I didn't want to linger around here.

Sara pointed the ground. There was a trigger for one of the anti-personal mine. I stepped on it and, clutching Sara's hand harder, I lift my foot. Everything became white and I close my eyes for a second.

When I opened them again, we were standing in the arrow cave.

"It's the last step, isn't it?" I asked Sara.

She nodded, looking straight into my eyes. "I'm gonna be with you until the very end."

We circled around the place as I looked one last time at Felicity's chair, Diggle's counter and Roy's display mannequin – uniform free, or course.

"I miss them too", Sara said, noticing my looks. "We died too young."

I nodded. Yet I had die for Thea and it had been worth it.

"I'm ready", I said.

We climbed the stairs that led to the bar and, after glancing at me, Sara opened the door. We didn't walk right in this time and we both just looked at the white light the door had uncovered. Sara turned to face me and I looked at her for, I knew it, the last time. She moved closer and I leaned for a last kiss, a gentle one, a goodbye.

"Goodbye, Sara", I said in a whisper.

"Goodbye, Ollie."

I let go of her hand and walked right in the white light.
