My Life is Average

Getting out of the bathroom, Hermione Granger grabbed the end of her towel to dry her hair and sat down at the seat in front of her dresser. Deeming her brown curly locks dry, she grabbed her iPod and put it on shuffle to see what song would be the "theme song" of the day. It played 'Not Fair' by Lily Allen and without a doubt she put it on speaker. As the song continued on Hermione found herself ignoring the piles of books and papers in her study desk and instead, having the song repeated over and over again whilst she sang along to it at the top of her lungs. As she sang the chorus she glanced out her window casually to see if anyone saw her singing the song with her hairbrush acting out as her temporary microphone, especially the cute neighbor who recently moved to the house next to theirs. To say that she was surprised to see her cute neighbor pretending to play an instrument mid-air was an understatement. He opened his eyes and saw her looking at him through her window which is opposite his with her hairbrush still poised to look like a microphone. He opened the window and called out, "What are you singing to? And don't pretend no one holds a brush like that." She gave up hope of lying and impressing him and replied to him, "Not Fair." He raised his eyebrows and smirked. "I meant I was listening to Lily Allen's song Not Fair." His look of confusion cleared and he grinned widely at her. "Well what about that neighbor? I was just listening to the same song. Play it over again." He smiled at her mysteriously and when he thought that she did as he asked, he disappeared from her sight from the window. In less than a minute where Hermione thought she was played a fool, her neighbor came back to his window and cried, "Ready?" After a few seconds the song they were both listening to what could be heard pelting through loud speakers in his room. He gave her cue to sing once again and as the afternoon rolled, they spent their time doing nothing except pretend singing and air-guitaring the songs being played in his iPod, and Hermione's iPod lying forgotten in her dresser.

As night came in they were both reluctant to leave their rooms but were forced to when both of their mothers called to each of them to go and have dinner. Hermione came back to her room and remembered what she did with her cute neighbor with a smile playing across her lips. She heard someone calling out to her window and she approached to see what was wrong. It turns out her cute neighbor was back with his lopsided smile and twinkling green eyes. "Want to go out tomorrow?" he asked without hesitation. She rolled her eyes and said, "I don't even know your name."

"It's Harry Potter. And don't worry about your parents, mine took care of it. Well my Dad did. He said you rarely see a girl singing without care with you in a random town, so he thought I should go for it." He smiled sheepishly as he said this and shrugged his shoulders in what he thought as a careless shrug. She smiled and said, "Hermione Granger and sure, just as long as you bring your iPod. I'm inspecting it." He once again raised his eyebrows. "We'll play Rock band one of these days and I want to see if your any competition." Was what she merely said in reply. He laughed and said, "We'll see. We'll see."
