Leafpool was in the warrior's den, feeling alone and regretting that she had ever left the role of a medicine cat. She felt like she couldn't even catch a mouse. It was true that she was one of the poorest hunters in ThunderClan. She sat up, curling her thin tail neatly over her paws, and started to wistfully look back on her memories.
Summer came you took me by surprise
The California sunshine in my eyes
She remembered when Crowfeather saved her from falling off the edge of the cliff. When he had pulled her up, and they were lying breathless at the top, he had whispered these words to her: "You walk in my dreams, Leafpool," he panted.
Driving with the top down we sang along
To our favorite song, nothing could go wrong
If only she could relive those days all over again…
Laughing as we gazed under the moon
\ "…I can't get you out of my head, Leafpool…I keep making mistakes…" he had said to her on the Half Moon after the badger attack. "Leafpool, I know you feel the same as I do. Somehow we have to be together."
"…There isn't any future for us, Crowfeather."
His amber eyes burnt into her gentle brown gaze. "Leafpool, do you want to be with me as much as I want to be with you?"
You kissed me and it never felt too soon
"Yes, I do."
"…Will you meet me again?…"
"Yes, I will."
Hard to believe that anything could tear us apart
That you'd break my heart
Leafpool sighed. Soon after all of that had happened, Cinderpelt had caught them near the edge of the lake, and they had been forbidden to ever see each other again.

Leafpool curled back up in her nest. She knew Crowfeather didn't care about her now.
