Author's Note: For Killua Zoldyck, Yoshiki Kishinuma, Sakura Oogami, Shin-Ah and Sun Wukong.
At last, I have made a come-back with my new account. This piece is representative of many things, but particularly the three themes of my return, inspirations, and motivation. Although I'd like to withhold the meanings, I feel as though they are too subtle to not disclose, which is why I've decided to explain them.
Firstly, sharper readers will notice that this is an acrostic poem in regards to the letters I've underlined: o, n, N, M, T – or, ONNMT, my initials. This pattern is a dedication to myself as well as a reminder of my standing in the FanFiction community. Secondly, there is the more obvious subject of the people I refer to in the verses, each stanza corresponding to the characters I've mentioned in my A/N. Although fictional, those five favourites have served as leverage over my muse.
My final point is my favourite due to its emotional sentimentality. It doesn't take a genius to see the changes in text throughout the poem, and a mere glance is required to see the paragraph size increase towards the middle, then decrease further down. To lay it out for you, Killua's section has no capital letters and only full stops; Yoshiki's part uses commas; Sakura has a wider range of punctuation as well as a capital at the start of the sentence; Shin-Ah uses a capital letter at the start of each word; Sun has the entire passage capitalised, but with enjambment. As you can see, I also had different 'finishers' (so to speak) for everyone: Killua's square brackets, Yoshiki's parenthesis, Sakura's curved symbols, Shin-Ah's slashes and Sun's ellipsis.
There is a direct correlation between the power of their segments and the fortitude of their containers. Simply-put, they're bent more each turn.
Killua, small and helpless, is trapped in a box. Yoshiki, adding a tail to the periods, curves the boundaries. Sakura punches a dent straight into her opposition. Shin-Ah tumbles the wall. Sun escapes it.
Killua readies himself to beat the system. Yoshiki swipes at the division. Sakura's balanced attacks are peppered evenly across the board. Shin-Ah slashes at the foe. Sun pummels it down.
This is all a metaphor for strength. Regardless of how they each went about challenging their vessels, all of them achieve the same result of breaking free. Believing in yourself and fighting back will grant freedom…
I think I'm pretty damn deep :P
