"You lied to me." The emotions behind the words made her hesitate, and that was all Gabriel needed to gain the upper hand. Riley spun just a moment too late, and that allowed him to pin her – and her gun – firmly against the wall. She was fairly confident she was keeping it from her face, but she was more than a little wary of this version of Gabriel. He was rougher; lacking a certain twinkle that always reassured her he was on her team. This Gabriel was not her Gabriel, which meant she had to check her instinct to trust him. "Gabriel, I can't imagine how confusing this is for you, but-" He cut her off by pushing her harder against the wall, invading her space completely.
"No, Ms. Neal, you lied to me back there. Whatever we were, it was a lie that we weren't intimate." Riley's breath left her body of its own volition, leaving her gaping at this man – this man who was not her Gabriel – peering into her eyes as though looking for her soul. He continued his inspection, drawing closer and closer. "If we weren't intimate, I wouldn't somehow know that if I put my hand here," the voiced intention accompanied with a hand to the dip of her waist, "and simply applied pressure, you would start to melt in my hands." True to his words, he gently squeezed, causing Riley, against her intentions, to gasp loudly. Her quiet plea, "Gabriel, don't," faded, and he slanted his mouth over hers to reacquaint himself with something he both missed and did not know.
The way she melted into his embrace told him everything he needed to know, and his decision was simple after that moment. When Jin Cong pulled his stunt not fifteen minutes later, he figured he had a foolproof plan. With the fake documents for the chip and his lack of memories, it wasn't a half bad argument. Gabriel could see in the easy smile Jin Cong gave him that the operative had no doubts his acting would sway Gabriel to his side.
However, what Jin Cong didn't know - what he couldn't know - was that Gabriel had spent the past ten minutes reacquainting himself with the noises he could coax out of Riley's gorgeous mouth with his hands and tongue. He still couldn't explain how strange it was to re-memorize something he couldn't quite remember, but he did know one thing: Riley was his as much as he was hers, and whatever side she was on was where he would stand, memories or no.
He played at believing Jin while approaching, and struck at the last moment, using the surprise to take Jin and his guard down within seconds. After he and Riley secured them, he turned to her with an easy grin, gesturing for her to take the lead in the building he knew but didn't. "Let's go get our team back, Riley Neal. And then," here he stepped into her space easily, the knowledge he would be welcome putting a cocky smirk onto his face, "then, Riley, we are going to finish what we started in that hallway." She stepped past him, face burning, before throwing a quick wink back at him. "Whatever you say, Gabriel, whatever you say!"
