One Last Kiss
Author's Note: My first attempt at Cedric x Fleur, I decided to do this for a Never Before Seen Pairing Challenge, because I know this is a pretty rare pairing and I thought it would be fun to do. Also italics are flashbacks. Cedric's point of view. Sorry if the French is a little off, oh and when Fleur is talking to Cedric her English is suppose to be a little off. Thanks, hope you enjoy! (:
Disclaimer: As always I don't own anything but the plot line.
"Fleur? Do you think it would be ok if I asked Cho do the ball because I mean we can't go together because we're champions? I'm sure it would look odd if I didn't have a date and I could ask one of my friends to go with you if you want?"
"Uhh… Okay?"
"Are you sure because I could go by myself if you want?"
"No you ask her."
The third task was only a day away. Fleur and I hadn't spent a day together in almost a week. The last task was important to the both of us so we had no free time on our hands, I determined and she was competitive. We always knew that we'd be competing against to each but we never knew how hard it would be.
I was holding my head in my hands. "Roger Davies? Cedric what were you thinking! He's Ravenclaw's quidditch captain, he's good looking, and he's smart! She eats with the Ravenclaws, she obviously going to sit with him now at dinner!"
The library was practically deserted besides myself and a stray first year or two. I heard footsteps coming towards me; I looked up from the book I was reading. It was Fleur.
"Cedric."
One word. That was all she needed to say. I didn't even need to at her now to see what was coming.
There was a twinkle in her eye I had never seen before. Here beautiful blue eyes were glossy with tears that weren't quite ready to fall yet. My heart dropped, I knew something was wrong. I could feel it would be over within minutes.
"Cedric is it?" Fleur's blue eyes looked into mine for the first time.
I knew a little French, "Oui, vous avez raison de Fleur?" ("Yes, you're Fleur right?")
She just nodded and shyly smiled.
I just looked at her knowing that the words that would come of her mouth would break my heart; but I didn't know they would be some of the last words I'd ever hear her say.
"You don't have to do this. I know what you're going to say." I knew it would be too painful for her.
"No, Cedric I 'ave to do this." The tears started to roll down her cheek, "The last task is tomorrow, it'll be too hard. Even after the tournament it will be hard because I would never see you often."
"I understand. One last thing."
"Yes." The tears were still rolling down from her beautiful eyes.
My hands were shaking but I couldn't help myself. I kissed her with more passion than I had ever kissed anyone. I could feel the tears on her cheek touching my own. As she closed her eyes I took the time to memorize the few freckles on her face and ridge on lips. When I let go she quickly walked away. I was never the type to let out my emotions or cry but I put my heart in it. They slipped through to the surface. A few tears slide down my face while I clear up my books. I try to hide them but I could never lie.
Before the last task my parent's and the other champion's parents were invited to get together with the entire champion's. I knew it would be obviously be uncomfortable around Fleur. I didn't know how I was going to react or how she would react.
I was talking to my parents when Mrs. Weasley along with Bill came to visit Harry. As Bill walked I noticed that he and Fleur caught each other's eye. If it wasn't over before it was over now but I wish it wasn't over. Now all I have is that one last kiss lingering on my lips.
