A/N The past few nights haven't been restful at all, and I kinda wrote this at something past midnight, so you'll be reading a really sleep-deprived person's ramble. Also, this is just a metaphor, that you'll either get immediately, or you'll just remain confused for the rest of your lifetime. I hope it's not too confusing. It makes perfect sense to me, but, whatever, have a go at it. :) ~Sammy
Water and ice are flawed perfection.
They accept almost anything that is thrown at them, integrating it into themselves, yet still maintaining their own identity.
As the water's surroundings grow colder and colder, it hardens, forms ice, and contracts. But at one point, when it is even colder, it stops contracting. Where every other solid would keep going, would bend to the laws of physics, ice is an exception. It begins to expand.
They are our anomaly.
They are unique.
Water and ice overcome all the odds. They follow their own, rules, the rest of the world be damned.
And that is why, the world owes everything to ice, the people owe everything to water. Without water and ice, the world would have ended, many times over. They do their job, never even expecting gratitude, let alone demanding it. They do what needs to be done.
Water and ice are made for each other, they destroy each other, they shape each other. Neither could survive alone.
It's simple physics. Water and ice are different. Always were, always will be.
But what would we do without them?
A/N Yay! Metaphors! You- you did understand who I was referring to, right? If you didn't, review, and I'll try to explain it to you. If you did, tell me in a review, and put me out of my misery. :) ~Sammy
