DISCLAIMER::: I don't own Ron or anyone or thing else in this story.

A-N:: If you don't get the MEANWHILE part, (or the characters in it) it will be explained next chapter. It will all tie in. Also, I know Pluto isn't a planet anymore, but I don't care because I grew up knowing it was. ALSO, Italics are thoughts. :) hope you enjoy.

Chapter One;

Alone I Stand, United We Fall Apart

Ron looked out the window. It was raining down in sheets over the Weasley's house. He was six years old and was desperately bored. Fred and George were in their room looking for their Dad's invisibility cloak, Ginny was playing with dolls in her room, and his mom was out with the boys to get school supplies for the new school year. He was so bored, he almost was considering going in Ginny's room and playing with her… almost.

He went upstairs and looked around. Everything looked so big. He sat down and thought.

"How big is the World?" he wondered aloud. He kept thinking. He knew that it had countries. He knew there were a lot of them. He also knew there were other planets. He counted them all on his fingers aloud.

"There's Earth, Vixen, Pluto, Mars, Zachary, Anus and umm… I dunno." He said and looked down. "How big is the UNIVERSE?" he thought and thought of how big it could be.

The universe is everything that has ever happened….Does it stretch on forever? Are there any other people? Are they all aliens with green skin? Are there people made of rocks?

For such a little kid, he thought about this kind of stuff a whole lot.

MEANWHILE….

Chris and Steve laid down in Steve's backyard looking up at the stars in the sky. Both fourteen years old. Both failing math, both best friends.

"Do you ever wonder how big the universe is?" Steve asked Chris. "Like… does it just stop somehow? Because it can't go on forever… is it floating in nothing or is it-"

"Steve, shut up." Chris said. "Nobody knows, and there isn't a sure way of knowing that anyone will ever know."

"Yeah, I know, but doesn't it seem weird. We're all so tiny-"

"Especially you."

"Shut up. We're all so tiny compared to the Universe. It seems like we are meaningless."

Chris sighed and looked at Steve. "We are meaningless, Steve," he said. "We were put here to give our lives meaning."

"How?" Steve asked curiously.

"I'm not God, I don't know. That's just what I believe, and what makes sense to me." Chris said.

They were both covered in bug bites and were scratching themselves like crazy.

"I still don't get it."

"Join the club."
