Fortune Cookies

Will walked along the beach, lost in thought. This stretch of beach was usually quite abandoned, and he often found himself drawn to it when he wanted some solitude. He had just finished a wonderful sword for the soon-to-be Commodore Norrington, but it wasn't to be delivered until morning, and so he had this time to himself.

To say he was surprised to find someone wandering on the beach was an understatement. She seemed to be a native woman, and was dressed in layers of worn looking skirts. Her hair was in dreadlocks, and she had a sort of mystic quality to her. He was even more surprised when she walked right up to him, and pushed a tray at him.

"You wan a fo'tune? You take da cookie." Surprised, Will took the odd looking pastry and examined it. He looked up to question her, to find that she seemed to have disappeared. When he looked down at the sand, all he saw was a wet patch where she had been standing, as if the ocean had washed her away.

He looked back at the cookie. Had she said something about fortunes? He pulled on the cookie, and was surprised to see that when it broke apart, there was a small scroll of rice paper rolled up inside it. He unrolled it curiously, and began to read in the dimming light.

The one you love will soon be kidnapped by pirates. You will then spring a pirate from jail in order to save her. You will become embroiled in a curse involving your pirate blood, but you will eventually rescue your love, and come to terms with your heritage. On the morning of your wedding, destiny will once again pull you in its thrall. You will be pulled into a series of events that will include the freeing of your father, the death of the pirate who helped you rescue your loved one, your wedding to the Pirate King, and subsequent ten year separation until you can bring yourself back to life after being killed, and your transformation into the true captain of a pirate ship. Be prepared, for tomorrow your life will be irrevocably changed.

Will looked at the paper in disbelief and then wadded it up and threw it into the bushes lining the beach.

"Rubbish," he said to the ocean, it being the only thing present to talk to. "The things they put in these. As if this would ever happen to anyone. They should at least get them gender specific. I don't plan on marrying a King anytime soon, let alone a Pirate one." He glared at the ocean, and as he did so, he thought he heard a musical laugh somewhere far off over the ocean.

A result of me saying, after the third movie, "It would be amusing to see Will's reaction if someone told him about the rest of his life before the first movie started." And then a friend of mine told me he was bored and that I should write some fanfiction, so I churned this piece out. Unbetaed, so all mistakes are my own. Please review.
