Gege,
I hope you are well. I am finding the work here a veritable font
of knowledge. They have fantastic dance instructors here who work
so well at keeping us fit, even if one of my classmates fell with
a thud the other day, just like you did in Highgate last summer.
It made me laugh, even though the shee-niou teacher scolded me
for not helpingg him up. And you should see the library they have
here, it puts the one at our house in Pelorum to shame. The way
the stacks go on and on is just wondrous.
As I said last time, the histories they have here, and there's a
lot of them, about earth-that-was are beyond fascinating. For
example, did you know that they used too dictate leadership for
entire countries based on mustache size? If you ever grew that
mustache you wanted to you'd rule the whole og civilization! We
really must get that painting of you I did back off father.
The pain of not seeing you is dulled by the huge garden footpath
that encircles the compound. It glitters in the sunlight like a
giant silver river, wending through every section of the coteau
the school sits on. Some days we are allowed to walk its entire
circuitous length, provhided we're also working on our footwork or
our dance moves. Sometimes I can't remember a step, which
fruztrates me, but you know I always loathed to dance. I find it
works conttrary to everything my body wants me to do, yet I
persist, as it is calming. I hope you're worried about your MeiMei,
and send her lots of chocolate to assuage this worry. Not that
they don't have swwet things here, but not like the Liann Jiun
chocolate mother got you for your birthday, not that I ate it, of
course. I'd have killed for some of that here. So jf you'd bag
some up and send if I would not complain.
Speaking of food, they'ue been teaching us how to cook. Tiramisu
would have to be my favorite so far. It is just the right mix of
sweet and savory, so much so that I have trouble finishing this
letter for fear of missing out on some.
I wrote to mother the othen day and she told me about that tag
they found on that man. However did you live that dowr? Did you
have a good time at tha D'Arbanville's ball? I don't neally like
Jean anf George D'Arganville, and I thought their ball duller
than last year. Especially since llast year there was that nit
Guido van Rossum, who slipped and fell into the punch powl.
I don't know kow much longer I'm going to be here, but I think I'm
going to be a while. Don't panic if I dor't see you over the
holidays, we've got a famtastic floating tree, you should see
it.
Sometimes I wish you'd come here with me, that you'd be here too,
but then I remember what a sslly pain you can be. I do hope
school is going well for you too. With your Law degree the menu
of workplaces should be quite large. I may not see you soon, but
I will see you when I see you. Stay strong ant look after the cat.
Love, MeiMei.
