Ruka woke up with a smile on his face. The morning sun was shining through the window of his room.
After the daily washing procedures he headed downstairs. On his way he met Hotaru who already had had breakfast and was now walking towards her laboratory. She nodded solemnly, her violet eyes sparkling deviously. Ruka knew she had just hidden her camera after taking a shot of him yawning widely but today he didn't much care.
In the dining room more familiar and happy faces greeted him. Ruka heard Narumi-sensei's joyful laughter followed with giggles from boys and girls of all age. As Ruka was eating he let his eyes sweep over the people who were gathered in the dining room.
There were Koko and Mochi – discussing some kind of prank, Nonoko and Anna – thinking of ways how to seduce Misaki-sensei, the latter sitting quit near to the girls with an odd grimace on his face. Tsaubasa and Misaki sat besides each other talking quietly and smiling (Tsubasa had this slightly idiotic smile on his face every time he looked towards Misaki). Not far from Ruka was sitting Nobara, the former Ice Princess saw him looking and returned a sweet smile. Mr Bear was sitting together with Kaname-sempai looking… well really, even Mr Bear was looking happy.
There were many more, but Ruka moved on with his breakfast. He had his little zoo in the backyard in mind, bubbles of smiles filling him even on the thought of his animal friends.
On his way to the zoo he passed some sakura trees that were behind the big house. He spotted the pair of them sitting under one the beautiful trees.
The crimson-eyed boy lifted his head and nodded in a greeting. He was still somewhat pale but recovering very well from his long illness. The brunette girl who sat very close to him working her way through some homework noticed movement and lifted her head. Her amber eyes caught Rukas blue ones and a wide smile spread over her face.
Ruka smiled back and followed the path to his zoo. He realized suddenly that his dream had become true.
He felt happy.
