"Are ye gonna be done with that mirror anytime soon?" Griped an unhappy Drew McIntyre behind 'Dashing' Cody Rhodes who was once again fixing his hair.
"One more minute…" Cody replied, lazily as Drew huffed out a sigh.
This was the night Smackdown was invading RAW and Cody had to look his absolute best, much to Drew's misfortune. The locker room they were crammed in was smaller than normal because this wasn't technically their brand.
"There! I got it!" Cody exclaimed.
"Really?" Drew asked.
"…Wait!" Cody said as he went back to preening.
"Ugh, yer fine! I mean yer perfect! Get out of the way!" Drew shoved Cody aside and Cody went to nonchalantly put on his jacket. "Alright, I'm going."
Just as soon as Cody shut the door to the locker room he came face to face with Ted DiBiase, Jr.
"Hello, Cody…" Ted said, stiffening a little.
"That's 'Dashing' Cody—" "Stop with the Dashing!" Ted interrupted, but Cody continued as if he hadn't been, "So, where's your gold digging whore?"
The sound of the slap was heard before Cody felt it. He looked up at Ted who was glaring at him with intense fury. Cody recovered from the shock in time to push his shoulder aggressively into Ted's gut until he slammed him into the wall.
"Ungh!"Ted slammed his foot down on Cody's, causing him to step back, giving Ted the perfect chance to punch that dashing face.
"Ey! Whatdya think yer doin'?" Drew came out of the locker room before Ted could do anything and tackled him to the ground and began punching him repeatedly.
Cody stood there, watching the mess unfold in front of him.
Ted, you mean everything to me…
Ted tried to block Drew's attacks, but to no avail.
I need to give up this fear within…
Ted had his eyes closed, yet he winced from Drew's every blow.
Of what would happen if they ever knew…
Drew angrily smacked Ted in the face, making sure he was awake to feel the punishment.
I'm in love with you…
Cody didn't realize until Drew was on his back on the concrete that he sent him there himself.
Ted shifted his body so he could look at Cody, who has his back to him.
Cody has never felt unrelenting rage towards his fellow tag team Champion. Until now. Cody took off his jacket, bent down and slammed Drew's head onto the cement floor, then for good measure, took the mirror from the back of his jacket and smashed it over his head.
Ted was at his feet now, standing against the wall. Cody turned to face him. Their eyes met and suddenly all those months of separation meant nothing. It was all about the here and now.
Cody walked towards his former tag team partner and was met with a hug. "I'm sorry, Ted…" Cody rested against the other man. "Don't worry about it, Codes…" Ted whispered.
"Ted…"
"Yeah?"
Cody paused.
"I'm gonna need another mirror."
