Dark, threatening rain clouds hung in the sky above the black asphalt of The World that never was.

The heart-shaped moon shone bright, it showed the silhouette of a man, who stood on the top of the Memories Skyscraper (sp?).

His hair, which was red like dancing flames, was blown around by the wind and the man's emerald-green eyes took empty glances of the city in front of him up to the horizon.

He had lost everything.

He was not only a nobody.

A non-existing creature.

Neither dead nor alive.

Without a heart.

Without true feelings.

Only with the memories of the emotions, he had felt once.

No.

He could have lived with that.

But being alone, he would never survive that.

He was afraid of loneliness.

He had always been.

And now he was.

Roxas left him.

Left him to find his true self.

The red-head had always known that this day would come as long as Sora was alive.

He tried to persuade his friend to stay.

To bring him back.

But it was senseless.

After Roxas finding his somebody, there was only one person left to talk to.

Whom he could tell all his problems.

Someone, who silently listened to him without interrupting.

But it was too late now.

Why did Xemnas send HIM to him?

He knew exactly that he was not a strong fighter.

Why did he have to face Sora?

Why?

With this order, their leader sealed his death sentence.

He would never hear his bright laughter again.

Never see this shy smirk again.

Never taste those lips again.

Of all the members, the little water-magician was the only one, who nearly got his heart back.

The red-head felt so save when he was near.

Nearly… As if he had a heart again.

But now, there was nothing but coldness.

Cold, painful darkness.

He felt so empty.

Emptier than he had ever felt in his whole life.

His reason to live was gone.

And so was his living will.

Nothing held him in this village.

Nothing.

He shifted his head towards the heart-shaped moon in the sky.

Even if the found his heart now, Kingdom Hearts could never give him what he desired.

He slowly closed his eyes and bent backward until he fell.

As soon as his feet left the floor, it started to rain above the dark city.

It was covered in a haze of water.

A last smile crossed Axels face.

"Are you crying… Demyx?"
