The challenge word this week is Ridiculous and there are three birthdays so I've gone for a triple drabble (300) words and three appearances of the word. Happy birthday, ImpalaDreams, BrattyTeenageWerewolf and Swellison. Have a great day ladies.

The surgery was over, and Sam was so ridiculously relieved to see Dean's arm restored to something approaching a normal shape again that he didn't even consider the mode of fixation for the shattered limb.

Now, however, as he looked at the immobilized appendage, all he could do was giggle, which made Dean all the more petulant, which, in turn, made Sam laugh louder. Some of it was relief but most of it was amusement at his brother's endearing embarrassment.

"Jeeze, Sammy!" The pissed older hunter tried to raise his acrylic-bound arm and point it at his overly-amused brother but the residual pain stoked to a fire and he settled for nodding toward the offending cast. "I look ridiculous!"

"It's all they had, Dean." Sam reasoned. "They run this place on a shoestring and they bulk bought this stuff cheap..." He tapped very carefully on the offending casting material and bit down on an outright belly laugh as Dean sighed spectacularly and nestled back, defeated, into the pillows propping him up.

"And anyway..." Sam inclined his head to catch Dean's eye, noting the post-surgical sleepiness returning to his fractious sibling." Ridiculous has gotta be better than what you went through before we got it mended?"

Dean's face blanched a little as his brother's words returned him to the interminable, agonized hours before they had made it to the tiny rural health centre. He looked into Sam's genuinely concerned face and smiled a little dopily.

"Yeah..." He slurred as he snuggled down lower. Sam rose and gently tucked the covers around him. "But Sammy..."

The younger man crouched to be in Dean's eye line as his vivid green eyes drooped closed.

"What,bro?"

Dean yawned. "Did you really have to let them use a pink teddy bear cast?"

Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading.
