Rumors

Prowl could never quite figure out why it was that rumors had become such an important aspect of life on Iacon. Perhaps it had been the presence of the Lambo Twins that set everything off.

He leaned back in his chair, letting a sigh escape from his lips.

Normally, he simply ignored rumors, even when they were about him, but this time, matters were different.

It had actually been three days ago when it all happened, he had been at the port waiting patently as the passengers unloaded from the ship. He had suddenly been pushed, lost his footing and ended up in the arms of none other than the bot he had been waiting for. Autobots had been watching and there had been speculation as to how it was that Jazz was able to catch Prowl so easily, as if the saboteur had practice.

The first rumor had been that Prowl was speechless at the sight of Jazz and couldn't help but faint in his presence. Prowl had a feeling that Jazz had been apart of creating that one for the fun of it. When Jazz managed to do that, he'd never know.

Then it got out of hand as new rumors began to surface. Rumors that Jazz swore he had no part in.

It was said that Prowl was swept off his feet by Jazz.

It was even said that Jazz and Prowl had been secretly aligned.

Then it was something along the lines of the two were going to be creating a sparkling.

Some began to say that they had already had a sparkling and were hiding it. Hiding it in a cabinet and only if a bot had the right access code would they'd find it. Some claimed to have seen it too.

One thing morphed into another and Prowl was beginning to think he was getting a processor ache. He had been confronted numerous times about these varying rumors. Everything was getting ridiculous. But then…

There was that one…

After running into Jazz, the two snuck off to a quiet area and spent the night together. No one had seen the two until Prowl had somehow snuck back to his office undetected. Jazz, on the other hand hadn't been seen since and it was speculated that he was lurking around somewhere near Prowl.

The most current one bothered him to say the least. Why?

It was true.

He had secretly been hoping that both he and Jazz would be left alone and the Autobots wouldn't realize what his true relationship was to Jazz. If bots found out of his and Jazz's intentions to get aligned…

The rumors would never end.

Prowl finished the last data pad on his desk before getting up to stretch. Making sure that his office door was still locked, he quietly walked over to a small spot that was hidden from direct view of the door.

Jazz lay on the floor, curled up as he recharged. Quietly the mech vented as he slept on.

A smile graced Prowl's faceplates as he went back to his desk, getting ready to start his next stack of data pads. Maybe if he got a week ahead, he and Jazz would be able to leave Iacon for a while. Away from the Lambo Twins.
