Sasuke wasn't quite sure what woke him. Maybe it was the slight tugging at the crook of his neck. Maybe it was the feel of warm liquid sliding down his throat or the faint dipping of the bed as a weight settled next to his supine form. Regardless of what woke him, the fact remained that he was woken at an hour too early to be considered decent on a Saturday morning by a soft pinching feeling on his neck.
Blinking groggily (he would admit that he was not at his best first thing in the morning and that his reaction time was not nearly as quick as it could be), he tilted his head to the side to see a mop of bright blond hair out of the corner of his eye. Some of the tiredness evaporated and his glare began to take form.
"Dobe."
There was no response other than a faint growling sound as the blond head buried itself further into the crook of his neck. The pressure increased and a slight tugging was felt.
"Naruto!"
The blonde kitsune grunted questioningly, giving his head a sharp jerk, eliciting a pained his from Sasuke as the tender skin was pinched and pulled.
"Explain what you are doing and give me one reason I shouldn't skin you alive."
Naruto gave one final growl a pulled his head away from Sasuke's neck sharply, a look of annoyance and irritation covering his tanned face.
"I'm making sure you won't ever leave me!"
Sasuke raised a brow and brought an arm up to cover his eyes. 'It's too early in the morning to try to understand dobe-speak…'
"Want to try explaining that in a way understandable to most humans?"
Naruto rocked back on his heels, keeping his face near the raven's. His blue eyes darkened in seriousness.
"I don't want you to ever leave me again like you did with Orochimaru. So I was talking to Kyuubi last night and he said that if I bit your neck it meant you would have to stay with me forever."
Stern black yes studied the blonde for a moment before a long suffering sigh escaped him.
"Come here."
"Huh? Wha- Umph!"
Naruto grunted as he was abruptly rolled onto his back by the pale raven, who quickly followed and rolled on top of him as well.
"Sasuke, wha- OUCH!!!"
Sasuke ignored the loud protests coming from the blond and dug his teeth in deeper into the vee of his neck, biting down until he tasted blood on his tongue. After a few seconds he pulled away and gave a quick lick to the bite mark, leaning back to admire his handiwork. Satisfied by the marking, he raised his eyes to meet the accusing blue gaze of his blonde teammate.
"That's how you do it."
Blue eyes clouded over in confusion.
"What?"
Sasuke sighed, sitting up to straddle the dobe's chest.
"That's how you make the mark. Not that mouthing thing that you were doing."
Naruto's eyes widened and brightened as a blinding smile spread over his face, making his whiskered cheeks curl up in delight. A delighted laugh filled the room.
"Sasuke!"
Sasuke felt the air leave his lungs with a soft whoosh as the kitsune rolled them over and settled on top of him, wrapping his arms around him in a bear hug. The blonde head returned to its place buried in his neck, and he almost shivered as he felt warm puffs of air hit his neck. He brought his arms up lightly around the other boy, one hand reaching up to ruffle the blonde hair affectionately.
'Stupid dobe… didn't even recognize a mating mark. Let's see someone try to steal him from me now! He's mine.'
