This is my first real fanfiction! Your Guardian Angel is a collab between me and DFDPGZ14, and she's doing most of the writing, I'm just coming up with the ideas. So sorry if this one is horrible.

CHAPTER 1:

It was an unseasonably cold night in May, and Sam pulled her jacket closer to her body as a chill went down her spine.Only a few blocks away... she thought to herself as she looked up at the apartment building in front of her. There was a large sign on the side that was too faded to make out the words. The place has been long deserted. She knew the story: some kid had died there a few years ago due to a lab accident. Apparently his family were ghost hunters? Not that they'd have any luck here Sam thought or anywhere for that matter. Everyone knows there's no such thing as ghosts. Snapping back to reality, she realized she's only a few feet away from the front door. She adjusted the straps of her dark purple backpack and hugged her arms as the air suddenly got much colder. She reached out to open the door, glad to find it wasn't locked. As soon as the door swung open, another blast of cold air made the Goth shiver. "There's nothing to be afraid of," she whispered to herself "the scariest thing might be a few cobwebs." She stepped inside and saw she was right. The room was mostly empty, and dust hung in the air, making her cough. Sam set her bag down on the dusty coffee table and pulled a flashlight from inside, switching it on to explore the building. She decided not to go upstairs or downstairs at all, unless it was necessary. Not that she was scared... just... you know... a safety precaution. Who knows? One of those stairs could break. After finding a cobweb-infested kitchen, Sam decided it would probably be best to think about going to sleep. That might make this go by faster and then she could leave this creepy, disgusting building. She shuddered and went back to the couch, unable to shake the feeling that she was being watched. Or maybe that was just the spiderwebs clinging to her. After trying to clean off the couch best she could, Sam got out a pillow and a blanket to sleep. As she closed her eyes, she thought she saw a slight movement near the basement stairs...
