He grasped the amulet tighter, he pumped his legs harder. His sister told him to take the amulet and run, run as fast as he can. He looked at it sitting in the palm of his hand, it was shield shaped with a gray orb in the middle of the shield. Parts of the shield seeming to warp around the orb. She had told him it would protect him, he was just to call his name and concentrate on the amulet itself. What did she call the amulet, he tried to remember but with all this trouble that had happened he had forgotten. No, it was called Freelancer. He heard footsteps behind him, one of the suited people was following him. He pumped his legs as hard as they would go, but he could feel the fatigue in his legs growing. He felt something past him, a blue bolt. It impacted a wall nearby, making a nice burn mark. He decided at that point it was time to forget his fatigue and keep running as fast as he could.
From behind him he heard a male voice call out, "Augerfrost" The bolt hit near his feet and it tripped him. He picked himself up and found a creature coming towards him, it was green colored with red eyes. He tried to back up but it was walking and he was on the floor, trying to crawl away. He felt fear stab into his heart. He felt his back hit a wall, he was trapped and now he was going to die. He glanced down at the amulet, his sister told him that it would protect him. She had never let him down before, and he hoped she didn't now.
"Help me, Freelancer." He held up the amulet and concentrated solely on the amulet. He heard a pained scream, and he was sure it wasn't him. He opened his eyes and saw a large man encased in armor, mostly dark blues and black. He had a large tower shield and a huge lance. The green creature had backed off, wounded apparently.
"What do you want me to do? Defeat this weakling and his seeker?" He looked around to see who'd said that. He eyes returned to the figure in front of him.
He felt it in his mind more so then having heard it. "Uhm, yes please?" As soon as he had finished his sentence the armoured figure in front of him charged forward, lance and shield held at the ready. He stabbed with his lance at an amazing speed but the creature dodged, but barely. It slashed at him with one of its clawed hands but hit harmlessly against his shield. Another stab from the lance and the creature dissipated. The figure turned to the suit, but he had already started to run.
"Call upon me again, when you have need. I Shall be there for you." He was sure it came from the figure but, again it didn't feel like it was talking to him normally. Almost like it was telepathic or something. It too also dissipated once it finished its sentence.
His sight wavered, and the last thing he saw was a man. Dressed in a light brown trench coat.
