The Busy Mom
Maddie was a single working mother who had 5 kids, 3 girls and 2 boys. It was tough working in New York City from 9-6 Tuesday thru Friday. Maddie always had a lot to do, and it seemed like she never got any rest. Her older daughter Lillie and she was 17. Lillie was on all the clubs at school, drama club, the debate team, social action club, and so on. She was also the president of her school. Then there were the twin boys, by the names of Patrick and Gabriel. They were 14 and played all the sports you could ever think of. They were also trouble makers. Then there was Violet, Violet was 10 and she was obsessed with fashion and cooking. She had so many clothes, she didn't know what to do with them all. Then there was Rosie. Rosie was 5 and she loved to paint and draw. She also loved nature. So Maddie was very busy. Today for example she had to rush to feed the boys and take them to soccer practice. Then take Lillie to the debate meeting. Go back home and feed Rosie. Pick up the boys and bring them home. Take Violet shopping for more spring clothes. Go pick up Lillie, drop off Violet and Lillie at home, take the boys to a basketball game. Go home and give everyone lunch except for the boys. Pick the boys up and bring them to hockey practice. Go home and pick up Lillie, Violet, and Rosie, then go pick the boys up, and go out to dinner. Go home, and go to bed.
Tomorrow was Monday…
"Hurry up Violet, how long does it take you to brush your teeth," Patrick said while banging on the bathroom door.
"Shut up!" Lillie called from her room.
"Mommy!" Rosie called, "Lillie said a bad word!"
"Gabriel, get up, Lillie, get up!" Maddie called from down stairs. " Patrick you do not have time to take a shower!"
Violet get out of here," Lillie screamed!
"Breakfast!" Maddie said. All 5 kids rushed down the stairs. "Lillie I made you a fruit salad and some yogurt. Patrick and Gabriel, I have scrambled eggs for you. Waffles and pancakes for you Violet and Rosie.
"Thanks mom, but me and Patrick are gonna miss the bus." Mark said after one bite of his eggs.
"Ok, everybody out, or you will all miss your bus. Let's go. I will see you later. O, and Gabriel, don't forget your field hockey stick."
"Bye mom." All 5 kids called.
