Mega Man: The Next Generation
Chapter 1: Advancing Forward
It was the year 20XX. It has been months since Dr. Albert Wily wreaked havoc on the city. Dr. Thomas Light, a master in the field of robotics, was spending countless hours developing a new type of Robot Master. He was not making one, but TWO Robot Masters. With the help of Mega Man and Roll, the Robot Masters were quickly becoming near completion. Dr. Light has recently come across an experiment he had wanted to try for so long. He has gotten hold of some new technology, which allowed him to create the first robots capable of learning, thinking, growing and developing as a human would. These robots were to be created small at first, but given proper care, they would grow and mature independently; similar to a human child. At long last, Dr. Light was ready to show his new creations to the world. At the next Computers and Technology Expo, he showed everyone his newest creations. "Their names are Heavy and Metal. They were made to feel like you were raising a human child. They may seem compact now, but given the proper care, they will grow, develop, and behave based on any person's influences." The two robots were twin females. One was pink and had long, blonde hair, and the other was purple with long red hair. The community was pleased at how well the finished product looked. Heavy and Metal had not been activated yet. As soon as Dr. Light started to activate them, sirens started blaring as everybody started panicking. Mega Man quickly transformed into his battle armor and was ready to attack. There was a blue blur moving at impossible speeds. Mega Man couldn't get a steady aim. He missed several shots as the blue blur moved towards Heavy and Metal. In the blink of an eye, Heavy and Metal disappeared, "My word!" Dr. Light said in astonishment, "My robots! They're gone!" A giant monitor turned on and a man with wild, gray hair and an abnormally large bald spot appeared on the screen, "Nuahahahahahahaha!" the doctor laughed. Mega Man immediately recognized the voice, "Dr. Wily!" The monitor's screen started to get clearer as it showed Dr. Wily seated at his computer monitor, "Greetings to you all! It is I, Dr. Wily! I have a 'special' announcement!" Everyone turned to face the monitor, "As you may have noticed, I have taken Dr. Light's newest creations, Heavy and Metal. BUT! Dr. Light isn't the only one with new toys, for I too have completed my own creations Nuahahahahahahaha!" Mega Man tried navigating to the front of the crowd. The monitor seemed to get taller as he got closer, "You see, I have a new set of technology that I have developed, and I can't wait to share it with all of you!"
At that instant, eight robots were shown on different security cameras around the city causing mayhem in the streets, "Mega Man! We have to do something!" Roll said. Mega Man quickly acted and started towards one of the eight robots, "Mega Man! Wait!" Dr. Light said, chasing after Mega Man, "Those robots look much stronger than the ones you've fought against before! Come to my lab and I'll upgrade your weapons!" Mega Man nodded and followed Dr. Light to his lab, "I have a new kind of alloy that may help you defeat these new robots." Mega Man stepped into a glass chamber. Many lights started to move up and down around Mega Man. He started to glow a very fluorescent white. In seconds, the lights slowly started to fade. Mega Man's armor had a lustrous shine, "There! Your new armor should allow you to stand a chance against Dr. Wily's new robots!" Dr. Light said. Mega Man looked at himself for a good while, "Hurry, Mega Man! Go and rescue Heavy and Metal! I am counting on you!" With his dog Rush following, Mega Man raced his way through the city to locate his first opponent.
