"When was the last time you did something spontaneous?"
Gippal could not believe it. He finally had the nerve to ask Rikku over and now they didn't know what to do! Rikku wanted to go dancing, but he isn't so well at that. Gippal wanted to fly with the Celcius, but Brother said "hell no". They both agreed on swimming, but then it started to rain like crazy!
Not knowing what to do with Rikku wasn't his only problem. Getting Rikku NOT to distract his workers was another. Every time she passed by, all the men stopped working and just stared at her until Gippal told them to get the butts back to work!
He eventually asked her to put another dressphere on, since her Thief-dressphere let little to the imagination, which she did pouting (she absolutely refused to put on the mascot sphere). After going through the berserk, lady luck and gunner dresspheres, she settled on the Physic one.
She still did it again some time later. He was explaining something to his second-in-command when he saw his mechanic Pymdean ask Rikku out. It wouldn't bother him so much if it didn't take Pymdean 15 minutes to come out of his words!
'Really? It has nothing to do with you liking Rikku yourself?' said an annoying voice in his head. Gippal just ignored the voice and went to get Rikku away from Pymdean, so he would get back to work.
"hey, let me go!" she said when he picked her up and dragged her to the kitchen. Pymdean wanted to protest, but one glare from Gippal made him shut up. In the kitchen, he putted her down in the couch and went to get himself a drink. She was red up to her face when she stood up and placed herself in front of him. "What is wrong with you? I was having a conversation with that cute guy!" she yelled at him. Even though he would never admit it to someone, but she looked intimidating when she was mad. "he gets paid to work, not to flirt around with every girl that passes here" he replied in a calm voice.
"At least he has the nerve to take a chance! When was the last time you did something spontaneous?" she yelled at him. And to put strength to her words, she grabbed his drink and poured it all over him before walking out mad.
There he was, alone in de kitchen, dripping from head to toes in his favourite drink. He decided to go get a shower to get some time to think. Maybe she was right. He has know her forever now, but he never said to her how important she was to him. He tried to hide it in the ways he talked to her (like calling her Cid's girl, saying they made quiet the couple, ….), but for some reason, she never noticed.
After his shower, he putted on the first pants he could find and went to the guest room. But when he knocked on the door, all did was yell at him to go away. "Come on Cid's girl, let me in already" he yelled back, but the door remained locked. He did had a spare key, but he rather have her let him in herself. "Rikku?" he whispered, "please?" She opened the door, looking surprised that he actually called her Rikku. He got in the room and pinned her against the wall. "This spontaneous enough for you?" he whispered right before pressing his lips on hers in a passionate kiss. She pressed her body against his while answering "definitely" between kisses.
Gippal locked the door again and carried her to the bed.
The next morning he just wanted to stay in this room forever, with the girl he loved sleeping next to him. Softly he kissed her awake. "I guess I'm going to have to cancel my date on Pymdean, uh?" she said teasing.
