The Young Life And Hard Times Of A Werewolf
Chapter One: In The Beginning
"Okay Scouts! Everybody ready? Time for our hike!" the Scout Master led troop 562 away from their cabins and towards the forest, pretending not to notice that strange Remus Lupin who had been locked in his cabin for the better part of an hour.
"Wait! Wait! Let me out!" Remus yelled to his fellow campers without much hope. He had already heard the last strands of the Friendship Song fade away into the distance.
Sighing, the eight-year-old boy pulled out the special knife his mother had given him, just incase something like this happened. It had magical properties and could cut through anything. Including the bulletproof lock his cabin-mates had put on the door. Kids can be so cruel.
There was a reason Lupin was treated like this. He was strange. Even his mother had to agree that his quiet nature and pale skin were not the signs of a normal eight-year-old.
Remus Lupin was, of course, was not a normal eight-year-old.
Remus Lupin was a wizard.
But, having read Harry Potter, you probably already knew that.
Where was I? Oh yes, Lupin sliced his way out of the cabin and ran to the woods, hoping against hope that the boys had left some sort of trail for him to follow.
Luckily, it had rained last night and there were fresh footprints in the mud.
Remus quickly raced along the trail, praying the Scout Master hadn't gone to far.
"Mr. Murphy? Sean? Jonathan? Pete?" there was a rustling in the bushes. Somebody was trying to scare him. Well, they weren't trying too hard. "Come out, come out, whoever you are."
Crash! A hideous monster lunged at Lupin and attacked. There was a small struggle but the beast was too strong. Just as it sank its sharp teeth into Lupin's flesh he realized what it was.
A werewolf.
