AN2: In this fic, Marietta is six years old.

Marietta Edgecombe peeped over the hedge to watch her new neighbours and more importantly, their daughter, a girl about the same age as her, zipping about on a toy broomstick laughing away as if it was the greatest thing on Earth. Marietta was absolutely terrified of flying, but this girl seemed to ENJOY it and that made her, in Marietta's opinion, quite mad. But then again, everything about their new neighbours seemed odd, from the colour of their skin and their silky black hair that Marietta envied and-

"Hello," the little girl said as she suddenly looked at Marietta and Marietta suddenly fell backwards in shock. She wasn't supposed to be noticed! Blushing, Marietta ran inside before she could say anything else. Never, in all of her six years in existence, had she ever been so embarrassed.

The girl stared curiously at the place where Marietta had disappeared with a puzzled expression on her face.

"Go away, go away, go away," Marietta muttered desperately, half expecting magic to shoot from the girl's eyes.

"Cho! Dinner!" the girl's mother calls out and with one last look in Marietta's direction, the little girl ran inside. So her name was Cho, Marietta mused to herself. Maybe she'd say hello tomorrow.
