Lily just wanted time to herself, was that too much to ask?

Looking back on it, it was. She had been foolish and cocky thinking she, a muggleborn, could go out alone. At night. After curfew. It's not like she was breaking any rules she had reminded herself. As the head girl, she could go on patrol alone if she pleased! Her mind had wandered like that. She hadn't been paying attention. It all happened so quickly, her mind barely had time to process what was happening before a hex came flying her way. Thankfully she always had a magic barrier around her to protect her from such things. Magical barriers, however, could not protect against the unspeakable curses which flew by her, thankfully, missing her. She had turned to face them in a second and threw a jynx of her own back at them. A witch of her talent could hold off at least six wannabe death eaters. This in mind Lily thought she would be taking some points and giving detentions before she was on her merry way. Maybe if she had been a little more focused she would've caught it. If it was one of her better days she would have. If it was one of her better weeks she would have. Or that was what she told herself after she didn't.

James POV

James was tired, no scratch that, exhausted. Quidditch practice had been grueling and all he wanted was to take a shower and go to bed. He had taken a shower and was getting ready to pass out on his bed when his mind went back to where it always did. Lily. He wanted to go talk to her no matter how tired he was, and so he got up and walked towards her room to try to patch things up a bit. "Lily-kins? You in there? Lily?" The door creaked open when he knocked but he didn't hear any noise inside. "Lily? You're starting to scare me Lils… I'm coming in ok?" James opened the door to find no one inside. His heart started beating faster as his mind thought of all the things that may have happened to her. He ran back to his room and grabbed the map only to see him worse nightmare come true as the little black dot named Lily was being slowly surrounded by others. He was about to run out and go help her when he heard her voice in his head, slow down and think, idiot it said and so he did. He would probably need backup even if he thought he could take them all down in his rage so he grabbed a mirror and quickly began speaking to it "Sirius! Sirius fucking pick up already!" A figure materialized on the other side of the mirror disheveled as another person came up behind him. "Sirius, Remus what the actual fuck guys." The boys looked at each other one blushing and the other smirking "What's up James" "Lily! It's Lily she's not in her room and the map, the map says she's being attacked ok? It's on the second-floor corridor with the drinking paintings, hurry!" James threw the mirror down and ran out of the heads commons focused on finding Lily.

Lily POV

She wasn't sure what spell had hit her and at this point, she didn't much care to keep wondering about it especially since she was tied up with people in black cloaks surrounding her. One came and kneeled down in front of her lifting her chin up with his finger, then promptly spit in her face. She flinched and attempted to kick this person between the legs. "Ohh spunky little mudblood aren't you? We are gonna have some fun together before sending you to the dark lord."
