"I'm fine..."
"No you're not."
He sighed, arms crossed but shaky voice holding no venom as he retorted to her concern. "Oh...?" She asked, putting her hands on her hip and smirking. "Then why are you crying?" He felt his eyes and realized that she was right, he was crying. He was silent and simply let her walk over and wipe away the stray tears. "See? You are not fine." He hated how she was right and that his cheeks were heated to the point of blushing.
Rose took his hand and squeezed it, causing his averted gaze to focus on her. "it's going to be okay, Doctor, just tell me what's wrong." He sighed, feeling like a stubborn child. He did trust her, but felt that it wasn't safe to completely open up and most of this hesitation came from pure fear and worry that he would screw everything up and lose her.
"Rose..." He said gruffly, trying to keep his voice steady and serious. "M-my past is a thing that I try my best to forget..." He started, looking straight into her eyes. "But it's not really something you can just forget and it..." His voice was cracking and breaking. He cleared his throat, mumbling out an apology and looking back into her eyes that held so much concern and understanding.
She wiped away the falling tears and squeezed his shaking hand. "It's hard...hard to forget and sometimes I..." He stopped, feeling like he couldn't continue with how his voice was breaking.
The blonde nodded and kissed his cheek, hoping to give him a bit of comfort and shushed him, letting him know that it was okay to not continue. "S-sorry, just got a bit emotional I guess..." He smiled weakly and sighed, exhaling deeply to try to calm his shaky voice.
"Come on," She smiled at his confused expression. "Let's go eat, yeah?" He nodded, feeling the sadness ebbing away with her touch. "Yeah."
