HEART BREAKING SPAMANO:
Spain and Romano are in love, but it's a love that was doomed by fate. After the earthquakes that ravished Italy in 2012, the southern half of Italy was put in ruins. Deemed weak by other countries, Romano is soon taken over. It happens gradually at first, his northern half simply encroaching, bit by bit. But soon, a full out invasion took place. It was almost unreal, his young brother doing such things. But greed can drive anyone mad in these times. After a few years, Romano was completely consumed. He sat alone in a field. After his country had lost hope, the only thing left for him to do was go into hiding and hope that he could gain strength. He hadn't seen anyone in two whole years, not his fratellino who was destroying him, not his friend Belgium who had tried so hard to aid him, and ESPECIALLY not the love of his life, Spain. He took a sharp breath as he thought of how disappointed Spain probably was. A few tears stung his eyes, but he quickly snubbed them. It was weak to miss someone, it was weaker to cry, or so was his philosophy. He sniffed a few times then sighed. "I wish I could just die sometimes..."
"Why would you wish that upon yourself?!"
Romano spun around quickly to see a watery pair of emerald orbs staring at him. "S-spain!?"
There was a flurry of movement as his lover ran to him, clutching him tightly, as if he were afraid of letting go.
"WHY DID YOU DISAPPEAR LIKE THAT I WAS WORRIED SICK!" Romano felt a warm pair of lips against his own and melted into the sensation. For once in his life, he sobbed openly.
Why did this hurt so much, the feeling of this reunion?! He could feel his heart racing, bursting through his chest and filling his brain with the pulse of his life-force. "R-roma...?"
The astonished tone in Spain's voice as he broke away caused Romano to blink. He looked down, to wear the other was looking. His body was no longer solid, but opaque and becoming even more see-through by the second. "ROMA!"
There was a light buzz in the italian's pocket and he reached to grab the phone, his body numb with fear. He flipped it open and read the text he had just received. 'Game Over, fratello.'
Romano looked up at Spain. There was a sad light in his eyes as he smiled at the man. "I guess my time's up... I love you Spain, so don't look so stupid, jerk."
His words were strong, completely opposite of his true feelings, but he couldn't show his pain. He smiled again as his sight faded. "G-goodbye..."

A/N: Sorry this is so short ^^; this is actually something I wrote for someone on Tumblr a while back, and I was sending it via message, so my word count was limited. *sigh* But oh well, hope you enjoyed!
