He could see her sitting on a branch in a tall tree. She was not close to the ground but she was not high either so though he was a little worried, he was not hovering around her waiting to catch her if she fell. He thought she would be fine if she stayed where she was but if she went any higher, he would have to intervene.
She had that far-away look on her face as she stared at the setting sun. He did not know what she was thinking of when she came out here alone and stared out at the sky and he did not think it was his place to ask her about it. If she wanted him to know, he was aware that she would tell him.
So instead, he decided to do a little thinking himself. Mostly, he would think about her and the way the sun illuminated her as she sat staring, switched off from everything around her. Or the way she made him feel. She had made him feel so many things recently that he had not felt in years. He felt love and care but above all, he felt complete. She made him complete.
