Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. But how could would it be if I did? I'd like that. Anywho. From a prompt on my rp account on Tumblr.
Lily stared blankly at the newspaper she held in her hand. "Remus Lupin put on trial for the killing of three innocents" was the title. She shook as she got up from the island in her and James's small kitchen. It wasn't true. She knew that. She was there that night.
Fenrir Greyback had been there. He framed Remus. But of course, no one would believe him. It just wasn't fair.
The scene changed to show Remus facing the Wizengamot. Lily was at the witness stand and the judge was twisting her words. She shook her head furiously.
"That's not what I said!" she kept insisting. "Remus is innocent! Remus is innocent!"
But no one seemed to hear her.
"Please! Please! Don't! He can't go to Azkaban! He can't! No!"
"No!"
"Lily!"
Lily jolted up, her blankets damp with sweat and her face clammy. "James?" she whispered. "Oh, James…" Lily flung her arms around him. "Is Remus okay?"
James blinked at her question. "Of course he is. He's downstairs. Remember? He's still in the process of moving and all, we let him crash here instead of going all the way back home?"
Lily sighed in relief. "Good…good. Let's go back to sleep?" She pushed him down gently and rested her head on his chest at his nod. "I love you, James."
"I love you too Lils," he yawned.
