I had always loved summer. The blazing sun, the humid air, the smell of freshly cut grass and the clear blue sky. I was relieved to be going home for the summer holidays today because I just needed a break from school, never thought you'd hear me say that huh? Well this summer I won't be getting that much of a break since I had signed up for the pureblood exchange, but it was a break from all the crowded hallways and constant stares of other pupils.

The pureblood exchange is where a pureblood student would go live with a half-blood or a muggle born to learn and experience what living like a muggle is like.

I can't wait to find out who I have gotten but I am also pretty nervous because all I want is a stress free and drama free summer with little conflict but since many of the purebloods of the school were in fact slytherins I couldn't see a day when I'd go without conflict.

I woke up this morning and put on muggle clothes, a long sleeved dark baggy jumper which was soft to the touch and black skinny jeans with a pair of black ankle boots.

I filled out over the past few months and was no longer flat chested but was a good old C cup with curvy hips and a round bum. Her hair had become less frizzy and grown out so the weight of it stretched out the curls into waves that cascaded down to the middle of my back, if I put the effort in and brushed it that is. I've also lost most of her excess baby fat, which it was pretty hard not to whilst on the run with Harry and Ron.

Finishing packing I closed my trunk before taking one last look around the dormitory to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. With a sigh I picked up my trunk and walked down into the common room where I found Harry and Ron waiting for me. Or rather playing exploding snap. Let's just say they were multitasking and doing both.

"Ready to go 'mione?" asked Harry in his usual chipper voice.

"Is it that time already? You should have shouted and told me!"I said with a sudden hint of annoyance in her voice.

Ron chuckled "Relax we have plenty of time" He told me with an eye roll.

"I know but I just want to get to the train so we can all get into one compartment, you know what happened last year when you said we had plenty of time" I was getting a little defensive.

"Okay we can get going now if you'd like" Said Harry with a smile that formed from listening to us bicker.

Harry, Ron and I all got into a carriage which already had Luna and Neville on who were chatting and sitting quite closely. I smiled thinking how they would make a cute couple, they're both barmy in there own lovely way.

Harry and Ron had begun to talk about quidditch so I tuned out and took in my surroundings. I like quidditch well enough I just don't feel the need to let it consume my every thought, I use to join in with their conversations but now I just find that some of their debates are pointless and rather tedious to listen to never mind join in with.

After 10 minutes or so we arrived at hogsmeade station.

Boarding the train we immediately set about looking for an empty compartment and surprise surprise they all had at least one person in each. I shot a look at Harry and Ron to say I told you so as we came across a compartment with a single person in.

I couldn't see who it was because the had a cloak with their hood up and they were ready a thick book which looked extremely worn and tattered. Hmm the compartment smelt of old books that musky old parchment tang filled my nostrils. I could practically feel Ron wrinkling his nose behind me, he hated the smell of old books. Apparently they remind him of his great aunt tessy and in turn his 'traditional' dress robes at the yule ball.

Obviously the character in the compartment was deeply emerged in the book because they didn't look up when Harry slid the compartment open or when I coughed slightly in order to make our presence known. But Ron being Ron, grew impatient and yelled "Excuse me!"

Finally the hooded figure lifted their head, in the process of doing so his cloak fell back. I was shocked to say the least when they say none other than Draco Malfoy sat there regarding them snidely.

"Yes?" Malfoy said coolly and dare I say almost nicely.

"Erm well we were wondering whether we could sit in here because all the other compartments are full but we didn't know it was you, but I guess you won't want us to-" I explained but I was cut of by Malfoy.

"Granger you can sit down it won't make any difference to me just don't make to much noise I'm trying to read" Malfoy said as if he was talking to a fellow slytherin.

"Thanks I guess"I said with a shrug to which he just nodded his head and continued his reading.

I walked into the compartment and sat down in the seat next Malfoy, Ron and Harry followed me in and sat across from us. Harry stared out the window as we began to chug away from the station, after less than 5 minutes the passing hills and fields saw to it that he fell asleep. I reached into my bag pulled out a book and pulled my feet up onto the seat.

Soon after Harry fell asleep so did Ron since he had nothing better to do, although I had to put a silencing charm on him as he started to snore terribly loud which left Malfoy shocked.

"HOW do his family get to sleep in the same house as him!?" He said with a look of complete seriousness on his face.

I laughed quietly, gave a slight shrug and said "You get use to it after a while"

"I certainly doubt that I could ever get used to such a ruckus, especially in that shed they call a house!" He stated with a look of disbelief.

I shook my head, rolled my eyes and turned back to my book.

We sat there in silence after that and soon enough we were at platform 9 and 3/4.

"Well I'll see you next term Granger" Malfoy said while standing putting his book away grabbing his trunk and walking out of the compartment.

I woke Harry and Ron up, bid them fare well and walked out of the train station where I headed to the car park. Since my parent's were working until later on we decided it was best for them tpto drop off the car so I could drive myself home, instead of getting a taxi which would be costly since I lived over an hour away. It wasn't that I couldn't afford it, I just don't like to spend unnecessary money.

My parent's are self employed dentists and were doing quite well for themselves, but being the boss made them even more committed to their work which is one of the many things I admired about my parents.

I spotted my mothers Audi and made my way over to it. Once I got there I muttered alohomora under my breath to unlock the car, put my trunk in the boot and climbed in. I reached over and grabbed the keys from the glove compartment. I connected my I-pod and put it on shuffle.

Although my mums Audi S5 is a very nice car but in my mind its not anything compared to my bikes. I have a car as well but it doesn't have any space for my trunk.

I finally got home just as it was starting to get dark, so I knew my parents would be home and be as eager as ever to know how school was. When I got inside I was greeted with the smell of steak and pepper corn sauce, my favourite. I went straight into the kitchen to find my mother plating up the steak and chips while my father put the finishing touches to the pepper sauce, that was always his job in this meal, he made the best pepper corn sauce no questions asked. And as I predicted whilst we ate my parents were shooting of questions left right and centre asking "How was school" "How is Harry, Ron and the rest of your friends?" "Are you excited to find out who the pureblood is?"

When I was done eating I said goodnight to my parents and I headed upstairs to make sure the guest room was ready for the pureblood student, I knew it would be but I just fancied having a nosy to see if it was still the same.

I found myself reconsidering my thoughts from this morning maybe Draco Malfoy wouldn't be so bad to have as the pureblood student, maybe there is more to him that meets the eye. And maybe the rest of the Slytherins had found a new attitude as Malfoy seemed to have. Although if they had then why was he sitting alone? Now I think about it, it is rather curious that he was sitting alone. I had seen him numerous times around school by himself, but I suppose that started when he was assigned his task.

I suppose planning the murder of one of the greatest wizards of all time would make you loose your social appetite.

The guest room consisted of a double bed made with cream bed sheets with olive green pillows and a matching throw at the bottom of the bed. As I suspected, mum had once again redecorated.

I yawned and decided to go to bed because even though it was only nine o'clock I was exhausted!

I went into my room which was cream and earthy brown, it had a king size bed with dark varnished oak bed frame with a cream and white bed cover and with a fluffy brown blanket. I also had a super soft grey carpet that made you want to cuddle up in the foetal position on the floor.

I got changed into my p.j's which was actually just a big football t-shirt that was my dad's but I had commandeered it since he never wore it. I brushed my teeth in my en-suite bathroom and then climbed into bed where I lay pondering the guest that I will be picking up tomorrow, finally I fell into a deep sleep.
