It's the ringing that wakes him up, repetitive, shrill and loud. There's a weight on his chest that he knows is Kensi, and it makes reaching for the phone on his bedside table so much harder when she sleeps like the dead.

"Yeah, 's Deeks," he murmurs, eyes closed with one arm flung over them as he presses the phone to his ear.
"Kensi?"

Female, confused, definitely more awake than he is. The detective's eyes open slowly and an arm lifts from it's place as he checks the phone at his ear.

"Shit, morning Julia."
"I take it my daughter is still asleep?" she questions lightly and he registers the smugness that's rolling through her words.
"Uh, yeah. I can wake her up if you want?"
There's a laugh that has Deeks wishing he'd stop digging the hole deeper, "No, just tell her that dinners at six and that I'll see her tonight."
"Yep, okay."
"Thank you Marty."
"You're welcome, uh," his eyes scrunch closed again and he sighed, "Bye."
"Good bye."

There's a beep and then he's drowned in silence. He drops the phone off the edge of the bed and lifts his head to look down at the woman laying on top of him. Her chin is propped on her hand that lays on his chest and there's a small smile playing at her lips.

"That was cute," she murmurs, tilting her head slightly to the side.
"I think your Mum is going to play twenty questions with you tonight."
"You mean with us," Kensi corrects him, leaning up to kiss his cheek quickly before rolling off of him and heading to the bathroom.

It takes a moment, but Marty Deeks is sitting up and calling after her moments later.

"Wait! What do you mean 'with us'?"

NCIS LA. Come back I miss you.

Oh. And I know it's late to the party. But there's no NCIS RED. But the New Orleans team or who ever are getting a spin-off apparently. /frowns. I'll get over it eventually I'm sure. I just really loved Paris. Eternally.

I am working on a second chapter for this, but I'm going to mark it as complete for now.
