A/N: The $37,000 figure was a guess, but when I went to Ford's web-site (http://www.ford.com), it turned out to be not too far from the highest I could get an F-150 to work out to.
========
"$37,000!?!" Clark demanded, brandishing a bundle of papers in front of him like it was a cross and he was attempting to ward Lex off.
"It's nice to see you, too, Clark." Lex responded with astonishment.
But all Clark could say was "$37,000!?!"
"What are you talking about?" Lex asked, afraid he knew.
"This." Clark shook the sheaf of papers.
Lex took them, and they dropped almost immediately from his nerveless fingers. "Now, Clark. It was more than that. $52,000, give or take. There were a bunch of options I asked for that Ford doesn't normally offer on their trucks at all."
This caused Clark to launch into the same song, different verse. "$52,000!?!"
Clark advanced on Lex, who backpedaled madly, trying to figure out what had Clark so upset.
"You put a value of $52,000 on your life?"
"Um, yes?" Lex asked, uncertain, as he felt the smooth stone of the wall against his back.
Clark was suddenly seized with a need to *show* Lex his value. He swooped down, capturing Lex's mouth in a passionate kiss. Lex's mouth opened to allow Clark's tongue to taste and tease him.
When they were both breathing heavily, Clark pulled back. "That's $1 of what you owe me for saving your life."
"$1 a kiss. Hm. So, when are you going to stop? 27,000? 37,0 . . . ."
Clark kept Lex from finishing with a short, almost-chaste, kiss, then resting his forehead against his love's. "I plan to never stop."
