Darcy had always hated playing chess.
Not because it took a while to complete a game.
But because Jane always won.
She sometimes played with Thor, but it was hard.
He hardly remembered how each piece moved.
and she had to remind him all the time.
Darcy just wanted to win.
Then one day, Thor brought his younger brother over to Jane's apartment.
"Jane, Darcy, This is Loki. Loki, this is Jane and Darcy."
Loki sat on the couch that Darcy was sitting in.
But he sat on the opposite side.
She showed him the chess board "Do you wanna play?"
"How does one 'play' this Miguard game?"
"I'll teach you."
After a round of teaching Loki, he asked to play another round.
Darcy won that one.
He asked to play one more round, confident he could win.
"Challenge accepted." she set the game up one last time.
In three moves, Loki had won.
"How did you...?"
"It was easy."
And that was the last time she ever played chess.
